Posts: 76 | I need two custom rods with custom graphics for a wedding gift this summer. I need suggestions of a rod builder who can do this and possibly a pic or two of recent custom graphic artwork. I would want to put the bride and grooms names and wedding date on the rods. Feel free to PM me or answer on the forum.

Posts: 231 | Another Vote for Frank, his work is awesome!! He's a great guy and will walk you through everything. I would also like to mention.. Dadson’s Custom Rods. Scott & Sean Bermingham are also good guys, and do excellent work! They both have unique styles. You can't go wrong with either of the two. IMHO, no one comes close to these two builders,

Posts: 494 Location: midwest | Dadson's Custom Rods or Frank's . Both are at the Chicago Muskie Show if you can make it to there in January. You will be able to see examples of their work and order a rod at that time in person.

Location: SE Wisconsin | Without a doubt, Vince's rods are the finest craftsmanship I've ever had the privilege of putting my hands on. You want custom graphics? Take a look at his 9'6" "Mr. Toothy" with 25 real muskie teeth inlaid with an exotic feather weave - now that rod is sick! He also does snakeskin wraps and whatever else you can dream up. Hands down, Migizi Rods.. http://muskie4.outdoorsfirst.com/articles/12.07.2012/5387/No.Muskie... *Edited to include hyperlink Edited by Sam Ubl 12/21/2012 8:41 AM

Posts: 494 Location: midwest | A "CUSTOM" rod builder gives you your choice of grip lengths, sizes and materials ( cork/eva/sim cork ect) as well as your choice of graphics, thread wrap colors, guide brands, colors of guides (gold, titanium, silver, black, blue, holographic ect). You choose the brand, length and power of blank you want built and they build it to your exact specifications to fit your needs. Make sure you are offered all of the choices you want when choosing a builder and not offered a cookie cutter built rod with graphics added to the pre assembled rod at predetermined lengths. Make sure you can get it built the way you want it and not how it is offered and can be modified for graphics.

I also think it's important to go with a builder that has years of experience. Both Dadson's & Frank's are definitely qualified in that department. Edited by Chas 12/21/2012 9:19 AM

Posts: 76 | Thnaks for all the advice so far. I will check out all you have mentioned and also the PM's that you sent. I will be at the Milwaukee show but can't make it to the Chicago show. It's winter and curling sometimes interferes with the summer dreaming events.

Posts: 4053 Location: Land of the Musky | Take a look at Tuscadora rods too. Jeremy is making me 6 custom rods for the musky shows this year. All theme rods. From a heavy metal them, hippy (Austin Powers) rod, WI Badgers rods, Special Forces theme, etc... http://tuscaroratackle.com/rods/ I will post some pictures when he gets them ready.

I like my Thorne Bros custom quite a bit.. Chose the blank, length, which guides, handle length, handle material, eyelet wrap color etc... It may have taken a little longer than I would have prefered, but I got exactly what "I" wanted.. I think guys name is Lonnie? Was pretty helpful with any questions I had..

+1 on Dadson's custom rods. The craftsmanship on their rods was perfect, and I mean perfect. They were at the Chicago musky show in the past. I don't know if they are this year. Definitely talk to all of the folks at the show before making a decision. Brian

Posts: 62 | I second, third and fourth the votes for Frank's and the Berm boys (Dadson's) as well By far way more technical knowledge of every aspect of putting together the highest quality custom rods you can find anywhere. If your just looking for flashy bling maybe some of those presized predetermined limited selection setups might be faster, but I dont think they touch the quality, service or options avaliable from these guys. In Fact, if these three guys got together, ...look out St Croix!! Haa ! I have heard the same of Lonnie at T. Bros. , but have not personally had that experience. good luck! (Just Sayin' F.ski ! )
