One thing to check out are the "Mo' Joe" by Live Action Lures.
The big brother to the Big Joe, sure look tasty! This is their first introduction of the lure this year.
those Mo Joes by Live Action look great, can't wait to try one out. the body material is very cool, soft and pliable but you could yank on them and they were very durable.
had a great time at the show, my wife had a blast too. thanks to everyone who took the time to talk to her, she felt very welcomed. we got to introduce baby Charlotte to the world of all you muskie wackos, too...

About 2 years ago I saw a "you tube" video with the Savage Gear baits. I asked all over Northern WI about getting them and nobody had a clue what I was talking about. I even sent e-mails to distributors to try and get some.
I am really happy to see that they have made it to the main stream.

Mr. Lambeau, The 8" Minnowbaits and the 10" Deep Divers are plastic.
The 6" minnows and the Drop Belly (Special note: I'm not talking about me!) Gliders are next on the program for the switching over.

I talked to Bill about the change over and I am excited to get some of these new baits chewed up. The lips are locked in two different ways. They snap in at the back of the lip and also lock into the eye. Great system to keep it locked.
The new bodys will keep the baits from soaking up water and causing separation. This is a huge plus because when wood baits get chewed up and hook rashed bad they will loose the seal and then problems start. With this plastic design that will not happen.
New colors and plastic design makes this new Slammer bait a must have. I talked with Bill about the "dead rise" and he said it is even slower and more consistant now. I for one will be back at the Slammer booth picking up some new Slammers. ATTA BOY BILL, my hats off to you for making a great bait even better.

Slammers have been one of my go to trolling baits for years. Can't wait to see the new baits at the Blaine show. They flat out catch fish.

Guys, here's a quick fyi. Late last fall I did some field testing on the Savage-Gear line and am continuing to work with them on introducing the products here in the US. I will just say that I was very impressed with the action and quality of the lures. This summer will be the first time the Savage baits will be in the hands of musky fishermen around the country and I think these products are going to speak for themselves once you guys start catching fish on them. Right now the US source for the line is Rollie & Helen's.

I couldn't agree more. I spent some time with Stu from Savage Gear over the weekend and I can't wait to get my hands on some of their stuff. The swim/minnow bait looks amazing(in hand and on video) and the color patters are phenomenal. I was also impressed that they come with strong rings and Owner hooks.Quicker stickers! If I recall, the retail on the larger model was like $15. Very nice. I must find open water soon!!! Steve

In addition, if you live in Illinois, you can also make a visit to their offices in Montgomery, IL. I've also heard that a small retail chain in the Chicago suburbs called "Fish-Tech" carries some of their products. I was also in contact with Stuart because I'm in the talks with getting a job with them (too technical to elaborate!), and he mentioned that he was busy two weeks ago meeting with Dick's Sporting Goods because they might become a retailer as well.
I haven't stocked up with their products yet, but the offerings look really sexy.
Pete, when you field tested these in the fall, how much success did you have with them?

Hey Pete, I'm not sure if you remember, but it was me that was asking you and Jay at Rollie and Helen's about these lures last year or the year before. I remember you wrote down some info. and said you would od some checking.

I missed my annual barb tossing with Dave Dorazio, and where the heck was Howie!?
The Tuffy Boat display was very busy on Saturday. For those who asked, we should have the X190 in the Green Bay area the week of May 10th. Test rides on Friday, the 9th, and perhaps Sunday, the 11th.
I'm going to see if we can have it at the Fort Fremont Classic in April.
It was great to see so many friends again. That is the biggest reason I come down for it, anymore.

Andrew, I got a few of the lures literally the last week of the season. Unfortunately nothing in the boat but without question the biggest fish I saw all last year followed a Freestyler to the boat and then pulled off at the last second. Dang, that would have been a dandy for Stuarts promo efforts. The baits I got a chance to try were the Deviator, Four Play Herring, Freestyler, and Rattle Shad. They all had very nice action and looked great in the water. If you haven't seen them in action try checking out their website www.savage-gear.com for some video clips of the baits.

I picked up a couple Slammer cranks while there at the show. I already know one is defective....it came with only one sharp point out of all the trebles!
