Been wading and canoing, my buddy has a Hyde on order for this season. Looking forward to casting standing up.
My boss has a Clacka. Won't let me borrow it.

He likes it a lot. Which is probably why I can't use it.
I offered to buy it, but it was such a hassle getting one to WI he couldn't let it go.

I've talked to half the fly shops, guides, sales reps, etc between WI and ID (and a few out east too, out of desperation) about getting a Clacka or Hyde delivered to WI.
Got the same response from all of them. Come on out and get one. Delivery? Sure. Just tack on an extra $1000+to the price of the boat.

I've fished out of a couple. In both cases the owners drove out and got 'em. There is usually one a year on the Wisco craigslists and they pop up out east on eBay fairly frequently. In fact, there is currently a very nice one on the Wausau Craig's. Not a Clackacraft, but a nice drift boat! Good luck!

There is a place in the Twin Cities (Midwest Drift Boat Sales I think) that has used ones and I think they are a Clacka dealer. You can find them on facebook. I bought a Hyde in Michigan a couple of summers ago. It was a fun trip go out and get it. Took the Badger across. There is also a Hyde dealer out there.

The search is part of the fun. Going to pick it up will just make it part of the fun of getting the boat.

Take a look at Hog Island Drift Boats. I was real serious about doing a distributorship up here in the Midwest. The neat thing is they are rotomolded tough. You give up a little weight but the rest of it is bullet proof.

I've got a 2013 Hyde that I love. Use it in NW Wisconsin and northern MN Rivers. It's a joy to fish from, especially for a fly fisherman. The biggest problem with drift boats is that they're hard to get in in the Midwest. In fact, I payed a little under $6,000 for my Hyde, spent another $1500 on a trip out to Idaho to pick it up (and fish on the way, of course), that I wouldn't sell it for any less than $7000. That's more than you'd pay if you bought a boat from the manufacturer, but after shipping or pickup, you're paying some serious dollars for the boat.

There is a guy in Hayward right now selling a Towee Rivermaster for $4800 I believe. It's kind of a mix between drift boat and skiff. They're pretty sweet for our shallow rivers. It has the rowing frame, and you can add a small motor which would be perfect for that boat. I can get you the sellers contact info if you're interested in it.

Another brand worth checking out is Stealthcraft. They're made in Michigan. Not quite as far as going out to Helena, or Idaho Falls, or Oregon, but still a jaunt for some of us NW Wisco guys.

I just ordered a ClackaCraft Eddy with intentions to offer guided trips on some Western Pennsylvania Creeks and Rivers. I will let you know how goes in a couple months.
