Location: Iowa Great Lakes | I hear alot of guys say that but to me I cant reel a baitcaster with my left hand and cant reel a spinning reel with my right....tried and just don't work. Weird that I can shoot a bow either handed, but only lefty with a gun and right handed naturaly. |

Location: Hugo, MN | I went with the Revo Toro, but only because it comes with a power handle. If the TE came with one standard I'd probably lean that way. Kinda bugs me that if I spend $350 on a TE I still need a $40 power handle. They should offer them with your choice of handles. I'd also like to see a couple gear ratio options on the TE, but that's just me. |

I'd bet very few people who own both voted for the Abu....

| I think the Toro's are smoother and cast nicer but I found out i don't like the low profile so I vote........... for a round Toro. |

Location: Elk River, MN | I run two TEs but my wife runs 400Bs and her's are extremely smooth reels. If I wasn't using TEs I would go back to what I did run which was the 400Bs. |

| i gave tried the 400 te but liked my toros better. Both are good reels. It's more about personal preference. Low profile or traditional round reels. |

| Also Daiwa TD Luna 300 is a great reel !!!
It is possible to use Abu Garcia power handle on Calcutta 400 TE (they have the same hole diameter: 8 mm )

Good point. I would recommend all of these reels, but they are very different in price ranges, quality, and capabilities. Hard to compare a Calcutta TE to a Cardiff. |

| Calcutta 400 LJV. If you're going to put a $50 power handle on a $370 Calcutta TE (making the total cost $420) you might as well spend another $30 and get the LJV which comes with a better power handle and is probably the best reel on the market overall. |

Location: Latitude 41.3016 Longitude 88.6160 | The LJV comes with a jigging handle, it has no counter-balance, so U will have to get a Power handle from the Trinidad 12/14 to cast the LJV WITHOUT THE HANDLE ENGAGING ON THE CAST, and the Trinidad P/H is another $50.00, now You will have over $500.00 in a reel that is almost the same as a TE. If U want to spend that kind of $$$$ then ck out a Shimano ConQuest 300/400.

Location: Latitude 41.3016 Longitude 88.6160 | I use the Trinidad 12 Power handle on my ConQuests and never have I had one of my reels engaged on a cast, but I also cast the reel with the handle facing up or down, and the Clutch Pawl springs part # 2711 are new every year in my reels. I also have the Power handles cut down so I can have more threads on the nut. The stock Handle that is on a LJV is made for jigging not casting. I guess everyone has there own thougths on it. On a reel like the TE 700 that has a manual lever for the spool to engage U don't have to worry about the handle spinning and engaging on the cast.

Location: Ft. Wayne Indiana | I have several LJV's, used them the entire 2010 season, no problems with the reel engaging at all when casting. Amazing reel, best I have ever used. |

Location: beloit | I used a handle very similar to the ljv handle on my 400b last year and never once had a problem with it engaging during the cast. after using it for awhile I found it didn't really matter what position I had the handle in either.
btw the handle I used was for a fin-nor offshore the you can get for about $20 and its almost the same size as the ljv handle. |

Location: lake x...where the hell is it? | i use both but perfer my toro. my toro is going on its 3rd season and is still my fav. TEs are great reels but wish they were lighter, the new curdo 300ej might fit that bill. |

| i got a revo 61 and a curado 301e the revo sure is beefier and handles heavier lures better curado is fine for smaller things tho
dont know what holds up better over time well see i geuss |
