Set my personal best driving time last week (no boat), from my house in the NW Suburbs of Chicago to my place on the Chip - 5 hours 39 minutes. Ye haw, beat that! To all you slowpokes – STAY IN THE RIGHT LANE! [:p]

And here I thought those sonic booms I heard were the Thunderbirds practicing for the Air Show coming up in Eau Claire....

Nope, that was me. I can probably beat my record once that construction is done in éclair. Those guys are going to milk that project all summer aren’t they. That Mobil station on the north side of town is my one and only pit stop.

Ya, that construction sucks. I live just off 53 on Main St. and I work on the other side of the river. I can get to work quicker on my bike than I can in my truck. They say the bridge construction will be done by the end of the summer. Not sure when they'll get done with the 124/53 split by Mouldy's.

You must have come through town at a decent hour because the normal drivetime stuff and weekends really suck. A lot of times, I'll just blow off 53 and take F to Bloomer and get on there. A lot more relaxing.

So my question is: Why do 80% of the slow cars in the left lane have Minnesota plates on them? []

Good traffic on Sunday, made it from the awards ceremony at the Rollie & Helen's tourney in Minocqua to cheer on my buddies at the Deer, Bone awards ceremony at Balsam Lake in 2 hours 45 minutes pulling the boat. This along Hiway 8. Yes I did drive a little fsater than normal.

Holy sh!t Luke! You must have been getting close to 100 mph a few times on that trip. I live just north of you on Randal rd. next to the Randal Oaks golf course and now have a new challenge. Thanks buddy.
Oh, BTW my daddy is 55 and just became a black belt. He just broke a bunch of bones in his foot when he kicked somebody in the head in one of those karate kid tournaments, but when he’s better I bet he can kick your daddy’s asss.

John, where’s the report?

I could beat that easily in a semi. Wisconsin police leave them be and they all drive like they are dale earnhardt. 70mph is in their way. You never see one pulled over, always plenty of cars though. It's funny to see them drive into illinois and slow way down.

nxtwrldrcd low 90's to be exact almost the entire way. Hearing about what the WI nazi's do to flatlanders at that speed has changed my behavior to something south of 85 now.

90mph....thats smoking!

No wonder why I saw so many troopers on my way to MN last weekend. They must have heard about our members.[]

I'm no prude by anyones streach of the imagination, far from it actully. However bragging about how fast one can race from one side of the country to the other is childish in every sense of the matter, exspecially pulling a boat. For those of you who have lost or blew a tire at any speed know how difficult control can be, without a 18' fiberglass boat in tow. This is a childish and shelfish behavior, to put your selfish wants of being "up north" and hour or two eailier above the saftey of everyone else on I-39 Hwy 51 or HWy 53 is just BS. When people south of the WI border wonder why people call them FIBS or what ever, it has to do with behaviors like that(this). Now I know that there are a#$holes in every coner of this great country, pleanty where i live too, but by driving and acting like this, then to be proud of it, tell you what, you are not doing you self any favors in self promotion. I am also going to say for the record, I have FRIENDS from IL, so I do not beleive in the FIB stereo type, I do beleive in A#$holes though. And and a@#hole is and a$#@hole where ever they come from. [:(] [:(]

I blew a rear tire on our old suburban hauling my stock car once on the interstate to race at the dells motor speedway, that was fun. I blew quite a few on my first boat, those 8" tires just do not like to spin that fast.

Geeze lighten up. Did _everyone_ say they were pulling a boat at high speed? Do you really think we're all stupid enough to blatently ignore the 65mph speed rating on our Goodyear Marathons? Perhaps you should re-read some of those posts where people outright stated they were not pulling a boat.

From my house to Angle Inlet is 785 miles door to door, it took us 13 hours total drive time thats 785 Miles/13 Hours = 60.38 MPH average speed, well below the posted speed limit and we were not towing a boat, so why was our trip so fast? Good Timing not much traffic at all now I do agree that 90MPH is pushing the envelope with or without a boat but thats still no reason to call people names

Even I can see that what started out as a friendly poke at leisure travel now has the potential to become a needless verbal tragedy..."when things go wrong + you can't go on...it's a tragedy!!!", a quote from a Bee Gees song(I think)...let us at this time take these potential "lemons" + make "lemonade", another quote from a song sang by none other than Tammy Faye Baker. From what I remember, she was singing "Take lifes lemons... (boom boom) + make lemonade!"....I turned the channel before she finished singing, but it was a catchy tune + easy for her to sing since her husband was in prison + she was not. At any rate let us learn from one another + find something good to think about! Me first...yesterday I was driving down main street + saw a sign that said "Bojangles Coming Soon!" For those who may not know, Bojangles is a cajun chicken place that blows Kentucky Fried out the window, + is a southern palace of refuge for fine dining...to me, knowing this gives me something good to think about, + I hope to be their first customer; if possible I'll take part in the ribbon cutting ceremony! Another neat thing is a dude has a miniature golf place at the lake + had a giant fiberglass chicken out front near the road...the upper crust appealed to the zoning comission + attempted to have the chicken removed; to gain support the above said dude had a small replica of the big chicken put on the hood of his Cadallac...recently after much publicity, the judge found the chicken to be a local favorite + was ordered to stay put! So you see, there are plenty of good things to concentrate on out there....now go give someone a HUG!!!

"....now go give someone a HUG!!!"

Better be more specific with your instructions, Sponge:

I took your advice + hugged this cute little secretary at work.
She gave me a black eye + the misses just informed me that I'm
now sleeping with the family dog!!

Think I'll now head out on the Interstate and get involved in road rage!!....[:0] [;)] [:(] [:sun:] []

You guys have got nothing on me, I drive 100-110 all the way to the river and it takes me less then 20 minutes and I'm in the best waters in the world.

Oh ya BTW we in Canada use kilometers.
