Location: Bonduel WI | I know everybody is going to have their own opinion on this one, but what is the best braided line you have ever used? I have experience with both Power Pro and Stren Super Braid. Both are very good lines, but Stren seems to say more round than power pro does. Other than that I did not notice a difference between the two. I need to buy new line this year and am looking for your input and opinion on different brands of lines. Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

Location: MN | I used Stealth for a lot of years. Decent at first, but after awhile seems to fray readily and picks up a lot of water. Power Pro I didn't care for as it did that even earlier. Last couple of years have favored Cortland Masterbraid Bronzeback, I like it, and am just now trying Vicious Braid. Anxious to see how that works. |

| Fireline Braid or Tracer Braid. Truelly the roundest super line out there and it doesn't absorb water like a lot of other braids. |

Location: Maple Grove, MN | There are a lot of good lines available today. Ask five people and you may get five different answers.
I like Tuff Line Plus. (Not regular Tuff Line.) The line is very basic and does grab some water. However, it casts really well, takes a beating, does not frey or fade, and is easy to work with. I use the white 80 lb on my large rods, 65 lb on my kids Muskie rods, and 50 lb for my heavy Pike rods. It is dependable and gets the job done. The only time it isn't so nice is late fall when its so cold the rods ice up quickly, but even then it still works OK.
Its just a matter of finding the line properties that work best for your style of fishing. What is best for one person is not always the best for another.

Location: On my favorite lake! | I too like tufline xp it hasn't given me problems. I am trying masterbraid and vicious on two of my rods to see how they are. I have tried stren, various spiderwire , a berkley I don't remember name of , cabelas ripcord and powerpro. My personal opinion I liked the tuffline xp better.o |

| Vicious is what i used last year and what i plan to use this year. Have powerpro on a number of rods, but as that wears out, vicious is what i may go to for everything. Its smooth, picks up less water. When i can't find that, i buy powerpro. |

Location: APPLETON, WI | I've got Spiderwire Stealth on my reels right now... brand new spools and after practicing with it for a while, I really like it. No backlashes thus far and seems to be really light line... neither of my reels are picking up any considerable amount of excess water.
Ask me at the end of the season... perhaps I'll have a different answer, but so far... so good. |

| Tuf Line XP is the best braid out there.
I've used Power Pro, Suffix, Stealth, etc. etc.
Cortland is a close 2nd.
Get Tuf Line XP and you will not get anything else. |

Location: Kronenwetter, WI | I used to run Tuffline, but felt it held too much water which can be an issue in below freezing temps. I switched to Spiderwire Stealth 4 years ago and like it much better. However, on my Saltist I run powerpro 100#. |

Location: Oregon | I have run PowerPro for probably 10 years now and have had no problems with it whatsoever. I'm sure there are others that are as good but since it's worked flawlessly for me I just stick with it.

used tuffline xp and power pro and stren super braid and to be honest there is'nt much difference in the three all very much alike actually would be hard to tell is wich is wich after they have been used a little, I will try cortland master braid later this year when I run out of what I have now due too alot of throwin up of water on the three mentioned |
