Posts: 2323 Location: Stevens Point, WI | This thread should be able to answer just about any questions you have about the different cameras available. For the money, the Oregon Scientific is a solid camera for the job, however, the sound quality is not the best. The Vio is the best of the best, but you pay for it. Video quality and sound quality is top notch on this unit. Anyhow, check out the thread and you should be able to distinguish the best camera for your budget and desires. http://muskie.outdoorsfirst.com/board/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=46...

Posts: 32890 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Here's a new one I tested, and for the web, it works pretty well. It's no VIO, but does a good job complete for about $100.00. http://www.newmp3technology.com/av25spybundle.htm Attachments ---------------- av25.gif (193KB - 149 downloads) av25case.jpg (8KB - 141 downloads) spycam.jpg (6KB - 143 downloads)

Posts: 626 Location: ashtabula ohio | yeah, i am interested too in that camera. i checked out the specs and it seems really cool. i was confused though, do you have to buy the dvr also? or is this thing the total package it claims to be..? i have no clue about mp3's or ipods..never used them or thought they were even worth having..but if i could record some fishing and be able to copy from this unit to a dvd that i could watch on tv , i think i would get it...!?!?

Posts: 32890 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | It's about the same FOV as the Oregon, but is a can be worn as a hat camera and has excellent audio. I'll try to shoot some video on the ice tomorrow and get it up here soon. The complete package is there, ready to go and ready to download to your 'puter, all you will need is a 9 volt for the camera..

Posts: 1059 Location: Medford, WI | Medic, how much did you pay for your vid camera? I see that it is an HD, and that's definitely what I plan on getting as well. My buddy and I are going to be fishing all summer (maybe part-time work) but plan on filming almost every day. I started to look at cameras a while back, but recently I've been busy with school. That camera looks like it'd be what I'm looking for...HD, large Hard Drive, good quality in low light conditions, etc. -Jake Bucki

Posts: 909 | I took Steves advice on a mp3 technology camera. It seems to be OK! It seems to really suck up the juice in the 9 volt battery though! Steve, Do you find this to be true? Brian

Posts: 32890 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | You should get about 7 hours out of the 9 volt. I use a couple E cell rechargeables, no problem going all day. You can get the E cell onsite here directly from the distributor on a 2 for 1 right now. remember to turn off the camera 9 volt power source every time, too. I came up with a neat way to mount the spy camera, too. Use a clip like the one in the image attached, and some industrial Velcro. Attach the clip to the front of a hat brim, fold back the arms on the clip, route the wire, and you are ready to rock. don't mean to sound dumb, but does this set-up have sound? Is the microphone in the camera

Posts: 909 | There is a microphone on the camera cord, Steve also gave me a tip to wrap some foam around the microphone to cut back on the wind noise! You may be able to go to radio shack or a music store and get "true" microphone foam, I haven't tried it yet. Hope this helps! Brian

Posts: 225 Location: Nordeast Minneapolis | I don't know if this thing is real yet or not, but would be pretty appropriate... http://www.engadget.com/2008/02/22/momenta-necklace-captures-lifes-... It's always on and detects heart rate, so when something happens to speed yours up, it retains what happened 5 minutes prior and keep recording until you tell it to stop.

Posts: 32890 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | The MP3 Unit has a mini Sd slot, and also has plenty of onboard memory. It comes with the necessary cords, charger, etc. to download files from the DVR to a 'puter. The best is a VIO POV 1 No question, this is the king of POV cameras.

Posts: 2091 Location: Stevens Point, WI | I found the best deal for the Sony at Abe's of Maine for $840.00, this camera is selling for 1000.00+ at Best Buy. This camera also takes 10.3 MP stills and I put an 8GB Pro Duo card in it to store the stills separtely from the HD video. The video is stored in the AVCHD format which allows you to actually burn it to regular DVD's in full 1080P with a program like Nero 9 and then playback in a Blue-Ray player.
