It does work. Tight wobble. Dives about 4 feet.

Is that a photo finish applied over the wood? Very realistic!

Its actually an illustration done on acid free paper, chemically bonded to carved pine, then sealed in 25 thin coats of flat.

The photo finish is great! Might I suggest rounding off the edges? The profile shape is great. With round off edges you could really be onto something

Nice paint job, but it looks like a shaped 2x4. Gotta give it some curves!

Its funny, I debated giving it curves, but - and hear me out, I'm thinking that the angles will cause more commotion/distubance in the water. Not only that, the angles lends itself to easier application of the fine paper, and easier balancing. Also, i'm not to good with the dremel. I dunno, it's got a certain appeal to it I think as it is, but I hear your points, and they are good ones.

I'm using the same process on a peacock bass imitation. It's a blast to do, and comes out organic and folk-artsy.

I'm thinking Musky would love to wallop one of thier own - like this...

Thanks for the kind words.

Oh and I did sand my wood mold, so it is slightly rounded!

You won't be able to keep any clear coat on the edges unless you round them over. A monster lure!

Looks good, but I would definately round the edges and not make the body of it so thick.

How big/long is this lure?

9+ inches.

I use a broom stick and a some butchers twine..

40-60 pound test on a Quantum Blue Runner, strapped to an old cherrywood graphite, heavy action.

She's probably wieghs no more than a Salmo Skinner, maybe a little more.

They edges on the bait make it thump like a mother.

I think the square corners could be great. After all, are you trying to sell it to fish or fishermen?

Being that that lure is much longer than it is deep and wide I would guess that you will loose the tight wobble and diving action that you described and instead get more of a chop dive action without the flat surface on top. By far your best lure yet that you have made and shared on this forum yet. Keep up the good work!
