Posts: 457 Location: Minneconia | I can't watch any vids on this site and many others since about three weeks ago. A prompt says "click to activate this control" which I do, then I click again and nothing happens, just a white screen. What can I do to fix this? I've downloaded the latest flash player.

Posts: 1316 Location: Madison, WI | I'd uninstall and reinstall the flash player Download this: http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/ That should get you up and going Also what browser are you using and what version? Edited by Magruter 1/19/2007 8:57 AM

Posts: 1316 Location: Madison, WI | Did you try a fresh reinstall? Also be sure to update your system While using I.E. Go to tools>windows update and let it run through the update. Also drop internet explorer and use firefox 2.0 built in spell checker!! And it's not a big target for virus writers. Once you use it, you'll never to back. http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/ But if you don't at least up-date your I.E. to 7.0 if you haven't already. (help>properties) If you have aim and are still having issues, shoot me an aim MmmmMagruter i'll try to help ya out. Edited by Magruter 1/19/2007 9:34 AM

Posts: 227 Location: Southeast Wisconsin | Right click on "my computer" and click on properties. If you dont have Service Pack 2 than do that update first. I was having a ton of problems installing and updating other software because I still had SP1 on my computer. I just updated to ie7 and dont really like it..Might have to try the one mag suggested.. Good luck

Posts: 359 Location: Wauwatosa, Wisconsin | please think twice and then three or four times before you upgrade to IE 7.0 I did this a couple weeks ago and spent the next 3 days working with various Microsoft tech support people as well as several other software techies. It was a disaster! The Microsoft people even admitted to me that it's probably best to wait a while to upgrade to IE 7.0 because there are many bugs to be worked out. With all of the thousands of software applications out there, not to mention different BIOS, sound cards, graphics cards, etc. etc., Microsoft can't possibly anticipate all of the possible problems and conflicts. So they (and/or the various software vendors) need to provide fixes and work-arounds if and when problems surface. IMO it is much better to wait a couple months, let others find and deal with these issues.

Posts: 364 Location: Kentucky | You can try clicking Tools button in upper right, then Manage Add-ons, Enable/Disable Add-ons. Drop down your Show menu and choose Add-ons that Run Without Requiring Permission and make sure the Shockwave ActiveX Control and Shockwave Flash Object are listed as enabled. If not, you can click the bottom of the box for download choices. Maybe that will help?

Posts: 144 Location: Green Bay, WI | IE7 blows chunks. It's a poor attempt to copy the functionality of Firefox. Best to switch to Firefox. You might also want to check your firewall settings if you use something like zonealarm or kerio.

Posts: 1316 Location: Madison, WI | Instant spell checker!! It's a very easy transfer if you're on the fence, all your bookmarks from I.E comeover with the click of button. If you get a web error you can restore your current session so it takes up right back the site you were just on. The toolbar folder for quick access... I'll have some toys for firefox users by the end of the day here.

Assuming you have Firefox installed on a windows computer...googled and found the links below for Firefox and Flash issues. I sugggest using Firefox as it is a much better option than ie7. Hope this helps http://www.brainstormsw.com/weblog/archives/120 http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=320838
