Location: Monee, Illinois | Well just wanted to let you all know to be looking for me in a new boat. Just picked up a New 2004 Crestliner 1850 Fish Hawk DC with the "Field & Stream Package" plus I had them add Lowrance x-51 fish finder up on the bow with a Minkota 74# AP trolling motor (upgrade from a 65#). It came with a Lowrance x-97 on the console. I hope I made a good choice. Anyone out there own a Crestliner? I got a Johnson 140 hp 4 stroke. Added an extra seat to make the girl happy. I was going to go with the Muskie Package but didn't see anything except a recirculating livewell system with timer. Lots of other toys on it. So let me know what you all think. Still kicking around what to name it? Any suggestions..

Let us know how you like it. They are a nice looking rig and you choice for motors should serve you well. Johnson's are Suzuki's and all indications are that that is an excellent 4-stroke. |

Location: Wayzata, MN | I bought a 2004 Crestliner Canadian [18ft] in March. 60hp Yamaha 4 stroke tiller, 74lb MinnKota autopilot w/copilot, two Lorance x135 graphs, yadda, yadda... I love it. The Yammy's quiet and the boat handles small and big water... all welded hull, good warrenty. I went up a knotch on the trailer, to a 2100lb for all the trailering I do...
Crestliner makes a good rig... congrat's~! |

Location: Passaic, NJ - Upper French River, ON | Bought a FishHawk 1850 SC with 150 Merc from R+R Marina in Shakopee. They had a great deal so we drove it back to NJ. After hearing how quiet the 4 stroke is, I wish I would have got it. THAT is my only regret. Great casting decks, smooth ride. If you're hit with strong side winds or waves, we fill the livewell in front . DX chairs are great, we got the extra butt seat, CD player and just put the two-way in. I've had it up to 53mph with two of us in the boat and full tank of gas on a steel prop. Would like to see them put locks on the front tackle compartments. Got the road cover custom fitted for single console, and it works great. Great paint colors.
Was told that it's better to use a swivl-eze lock n stow than a transom saver that goes to the trailer. It does'nt put the trailer movement into the motor, seems to make sense.

Location: Woodstock, IL | I've got the Musky Edition 1850 from '03 and love it. It's powered with an Evinrude 150. It would be nice to have locking compartments other than the rod box, plus I wish they offered a telescopic butt seat pedestal. The stock one is a tad short.

How dry is the storage? Local salesman told me that I would probably want to keep valuables in a water-proof bag if I fish in the rain or when leaving the boat overnight tied to a dock (like in Canada, condensation buildup). Said he ran one a few years back and the front storage was not all that dry.
I am looking seriously at either Tracker's Tundra, Crestliner 1750/1850, or possibly a Tuffy Osprey. Next motor will be Optimax or 4-stroke, leaning heavy towards 140 Suzi or 150 Yami.

Location: Woodstock, IL | I've never had a problem with things getting very wet in storage even during real downpours. That being said, I wouldn't store a video camera in the boat overnight because the compartments are not water proof by any stretch. Some of them in the 1850 are better than others. |

I always bag my gear [BWCA trips have burned that one into me]. The dry storage is OK... but....
I need to fashion some latches. None of my storage, livewells, etc... have locks or latches [weird]... Occasionally, on bumpy roads my dry storage and bait livewell lids open up.... My one and only complaint on the Crestliner Canadian... |

Location: Pelican Lake/Three Lakes Chain | I am on my second Fish Hawk. The above posts hit the nails right on the head. You do not get Ranger quality dry storage out of the Fish Hawk, I have found my driest storage is in the above the battery compartment. The biggest problem with moisture is not water seeping in the seels, rather condensation from below. That however is my only gripe with the boats. They are incredibly comfortable to fish three people out of, and handles big water reasonably well.
Your setup looks awesome, I run an 1850 SC with a 65# and have never needed more power so your 74# will absolutely play with that boat. I have a Suzi 140 four on mine (the same motor as the Johnson) and love it. It sips gas and pushes the boat up to 44 with a dinged aluminum on it. I will be switching to a stainless and expect to run high 40's with that setup. It is not the fastest boat on the water, but you sacrifice some of that speed by all the width you have in the beam.
I think you will absolutely love your new purchase, just keep your camera in a dry bag.

Location: Monee, Illinois | I just called and had them add an On-Board Charger. This is going to be placed under the Drivers councle. With two batteries to get charged this will make life easy. Time is going so slow....Saturday is so far away. I do agree with the locking cabinets but what can I do. I guess put everything into the rod storage. I guess things take time.... Its killing me.

Location: Monee, Illinois | Well I final got it and broke the boat in today. Here are the pictures of it. I ran it from Worth Illinois to Downtown Chicago. 72 miles worth of trip. A great break in. This took about 6 hours with the no-wake zones downtown. Had a blast....She topped out at 52 mph. Fishing Wends and Thursday. Wends (hedicke) Thurs (Tippy) if you see me stop by and say hi.
