Paul did a crappie pattern like that for me plus I had him add a hot pink belly to it. He also did a bait with his blood sucker pattern. They are both outstanding and just an example of his many artistic capabilities.

why would you not want it to be as realistic as possible? IMO I would want something the fish are used to seeing.

Here is a couple crappie patterns that I've done. The first one is a foiled version of one of my custom twichbaits and the second is a small bass crankbait that I was real happy with.
