Posts: 1360 Location: Lake "y" cause lake"x" got over fished | I have the one for the android, not sure how much they differ, if at all. But I like mine. I mainly used it while ice fishing over the winter and it worked great. Got to compare to my vexlar. Off on some spots but for the most part if was great, I'm excited to use it this coming season as well.

I have had the Navionics chip on my iPad2 For six months now. It's GREAT -- the same as you can buy for a lot more money for your sonar unit. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Location: Green Bay, WI | Ditto on the Android version. I paid the $50 for the HD version, and love it. Well worth it, IMHO.

i have it on both my Iphone and Ipad, its very accurate on both, downloading it on my iphone was the best decision i ever made for ice fishing, it took a lot of the extra drilling away. just choose the USA&Canada app and you'll get all the lake you'll ever need

Posts: 149 | It's available on the Navionics website for $49. It's on iTunes for $9.99. I am assuming there is a difference between the two versions. Does anyone have experience with this app from iTunes vs. this app straight from Navionics?

Posts: 68 | Do GPS apps work on a tablet without having wifi service? I'm looking for a new GPS/Mapping/Fish Finder but am thinking of going the tablet route so I can use it for more things. Then just get a separate fish finder. I plan on getting the Navionics HD app installed, and hopefully some GPS app since I use that as my speedomoeter. Right now I use my Motorola phone for my speedo but would like a bigger screen for the maps. I don't want to buy a cell phone service to go with the tablet though.

Posts: 265 Location: Manitowish Waters WI | It works without any Internet connection as long as you download the maps for the area your fishing. Once you download the map you can turn your cellular data off (which is the excuses I tell my wife why she can't call me when I'm fishing) to save battery and run only your phones GPS. Works really slick, accurate as your phones GPS. You can also sync your phone and navionics chips if you have both. You can move waypoints and tracks back and forth between your app and unit.

Posts: 294 | I have it downloaded on my iPhone and have to concur with most here. It is really nice to have and works well. It's not 100% spot on, but what can you expect for $9.99? Well worth it though.

Is this app the electronic version of "Trollers Bible" (cant remember actual name)...what is it called in the app store? Been told it's being worked on for so long figured that they shelved the project.

Lots of waterproof cases for tablets out there. Saw one that clamed it floated. My friend is getting the floating waterproof case for his I pad before spring boating.

Posts: 294 | I have the lifeproof case for my iPhone. It is a great case and is waterproof. I use my phone as my radio in the boat and lifeproof offers a float for this case called the life jacket. Bg orange floating case to go around the lifeproof case. It's $35 on top of the $60 for the phone case. Pretty pricy, but worth it in my opinion as it is $500 to replace an iPhone.
