Posts: 432 Location: mpls | O.K. I give!! I want to play the swimbait game too!! Mine are made of Cedar so I use a Box joint for strength. I have been making them this way for the past 5 seasons and have never had any sort of failure or any complaints, so I plan on sticking with it. This picture shows a Fibett tail ( Like John and Snax), but I usually make them with rubber, just thought that I would experiment - I like it! Joe Trueglide.com P.S. Anyone that is trying to get a hold of me lately- I had a little accident at the shop with the lures that I planned on having for the Blaine show. I had to remake the entire batch that I am taking to the show!! This has kept me from coming out of the basement for the last two weeks!! I promise I will reply to all of emails when I see sunlight again! LOL. Here is a little baitmakers secret- When the instructions say,"mix part A with Part B" Don't mix Part A and Part A- no matter how tired you are. @@ ------ Attachments ---------------- ![]()

Posts: 399 Location: Burton, Ohio | Looks great Joe! Man I hear you on that part a to part a thing. Been there done that on a couple of baits last year. Like you said. Slaphappy sleep deficit stuff! LOL I just had a fun one at work a month ago. I was finishing a 20 foot conference table and the project manager neglected to tell me there was a change order for a color change. After 3 coats of Conversion Varnish................ We had to buy this stripper that would remove your skin if you didn't have gloves!!!!!!!! Butt it works great on epoxy for baits also! LOL I hear you on the swimbaits. I have some going on also. They are an art in their own. So many great ones have been posted the last two weeks on here!!!!!!!!!!!!! Eye candy for sure! I love seeing the videos of their actions!!!!!!!! John

Posts: 110 Location: WI | Joe, Nice Swimmer, I like the idea of a box joint. I had to laugh reading your A to A mix. I could write a book on things going wrong building baits!! I feel your pain. Chad

Posts: 502 Location: Lincoln UK | Joe, that explains a few things, couldn't have happened at a worse time. I would hate to have your coffee/diet coke bill. Great swimbait but Noooooo on the micro-fibre, you are a trend setter.

Posts: 432 Location: mpls | Chico!! Yep, The Caffine bill is higher than usual. Just experimenting some more, I don't know if you saw the Pike swimbait in my boat this summer, but it also had a Fibbet tail. I am making a couple of new molds for plastic tails, that should turn out really cool. Just haven't had the time to finish them up. Joe Trueglide.com

Posts: 502 Location: Lincoln UK | Joe, didn't see it but glad the rubber mold is on it's way sometime, not a fan of the micro fibre, can't really say why but I'm not. In the boat in September and it seems a lifetime away now- I want to come back.

Posts: 139 | Awesome as usual Joe. I think the plastic tails like the ones you use on your other soft tailed baits would work well. It would keep them looking similar to your other baits, and with the toothpick pin, replacing the tail is easy to do. Either way, its unmistakeably a Trueglide.

Posts: 432 Location: mpls | Thanks Guys, I just made this one for myself, I had no intentions of making them with the Fibetts. I just couldn't wait to put it together- and since I didn't have the tail mold made yet........
