What's your biggest muskie, rounded to the nearest inch? (that means 50.25 = 50" and 50.75" = 51") And please be honest

And do you feel like it was any more or less "special" because of where it was caught??

They are all special....but I know what you were getting at.
catching 50+ fish in canada/MN is a real thrill for sure....

But catching one, for me, from the madison chain will make me pee myself....if the Lords willing I hope someday that one comes true :-)))

I got a 47.5 last fall when I was supposed to be in class. It was pretty special to me as it was the first really big musky I had ever caught. Most of my others were in the upper 30 range. It still remains special to me because I know where she lives, and lost her 3 times opening weekend. I'm laying off her for now, but once the cool down gets here to stay I intend on paying her a visit, hopefully she grew some more and put on some poundage!

My best fish was a fat 44 incher that I caught out of Lake Redstone on October 31st 2005. I should have been at work but had torn my achilles tendon and was wearing this boot thing until I had surgery, I had to fish alone that day because how would it look if I asked one of my buddies from work to go. Yeah sure, can't work but can go musky fishing! (kinda like the sounds of that) So I throw the boat in and 15 minutes later I feel a bump on the retrieve. I make another cast and start the figure 8 at the boat. Fourth time around and the fight was on. It must have been quite a sight to see me hopping around on one foot trying to get the net ready and then getting the fish in, photographed and released. Special because my biggest to date, first on the figure 8 and skipping out of work! Ah those were the days. Back to work and can't buy a bite!

My personal best was caught this year on Lake of the Woods at 49.25 inches. It has always been a special place that my best bud and I team up each year together to fish. What was cool about this fish is I lost it almost exactly 24 hours prior, she was hooked on the figure 8 and got about 10 feet from the net when she spit it. My partner who is Mr. Positive thinking, said "you will get her, don't loose confidence." So the next day, I raise a fish on the first cast, lost one on about the 15th cast. He then kept saying , "It is your day, you are going to be on fire". I then proceeded to boat a 41.5 incher on the next spot. 2 spots later we are back at the 49.25 incher and this time she ate out on the cast. Wow, what a great day with someone who is the best boat partner anyone could have. Ended up with another 36 incher that day.

51" rowtrolling in Vilas, saw the board get ripped, grabbed the rod and handed it to a good buddy from Montana. (had I known....)

Sorno's fish, well, like IAJ said.

Sled just fishes where they're dredging the river with dynamite and picks 'em up

A 48.25" beauty caught trolling a homebrew bait I made that had been in the mouth of 2 more that morning but weren't landed. Not special because of where but because of the bait I caught it on. It was in New Jersey too.

85 people out of 146 (just about 45%) who voted have caught a fish 50" and over.

That's pretty amazing.

My 44 is special because it was my first on a F8. My previous PB was 38. It was a bit intimidating grabbing it out of the net. Pictures just don't do justice to these impressive fish.

47.75 x fat on Monona. A bigger accomplishment than a 50 in Minnesota or Canada in my mind.

I have fished 5.5 days in Canada on Eagle, I saw a lot of 50's but the biggest one that I caught was 44.

I have fished a whopping 2.5 days in Minnesota on Tonka, didn't catch a fish. Troy Z said it was the slowest he had ever scene the lake.

In my mind it isn't what an angler has put in the net as far as a 50, that's a function most times of where one fishes. Fish lakes with 50" fish, you will catch occasional 50" fish.

Desire to always learn, acceptance one doesn't and never will 'know it all', ability and willingness to adapt to new waters and conditions while NOT catching fish, enjoying the sport for what I PERSONALLY hope it will always be and more other things than I care to get into at 10:30 from Cleveland, Ohio, there's your '50'.

52.5" at Eagle Lake. This was def. special because it was just my dad and I. We were suppose to go home the day before, but we remembered last year when a storm front came thru we got a 50,49,48 the next day. So we decided to keep on chugging then I got a 52.5 my dad got a 45,42,40.5 all in 4 footers out East in 1 day.....best day of fishing in my life...I need to start lifting again because I struggled lifting that beast
