Since Mom was at a hockey tournament this weekend, Dad and the boys decided to drag some lures around Pineview for about 3 hours today (commonly referred to as 'trolling' by those of you who know how to do it well). Flat calm and overcast, 4 other boats on the water. Water temps 49F. Air temp 44-50F. Nik picked the new 6" Believer I got up at Rollie and Helen's on our way to PI last week. He figured it would 'work pretty good.' We were trolling past a sand flat where we had action last time we were out and I didn't even get the whole sentence out of my mouth reminding Nik what had happened in that spot last time we went by and the planer board started heading backwards! Nik jumped up and took control of that fish like he'd done it 100 times. He grabbed the rod out of the holder, and reeled it up, then paused long enough for me to unclip the board. He fought the fish expertly making the netting a piece of cake for me. A nice 38 incher lay calmly in the botton of my Frabill. I even managed to get a picture of this one (which is way more important to me than him)!
He says that he now knows that 38 inchers are no match for a 5 year-old.

Hoorah for the Sorensons, cottonwearers from the west.

I get the impression he's a pretty unflappable dude. Stays cool, get's the job done. I like that. Cute little helper in the background, too.

Kevin

Act like you've been there before.

How cool is that!
Man, I can't wait until 'Nessa gets her first muskie. You folks have the prettiest tigers on earth out there. If I still MTN biked, I'd have to make the trip out there. Moab was always one place I wanted to bike.
Congrats Sorno's! I hope the little one's "victory dance" was a juice box, instead of Uncle Nightmare's hooch. LOL

Thats a great first muskie. Congratulations. My first muskie was really exciting, but I couldn't image it at 5 years old!
