Posts: 7049 Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | Hoping for another shot at a Northern Wisconsin fattie before the end of the year, and I'll be up at the Hideout all weekend, wondering if anyone knows if the Ciscos are heading up to spawn yet. Forecast is for darker skies and maybe even snow on Sunday, might be a good time to be on some deep clear cisco waters. Howie? Anybody?

If the ciscos are not ready to spawn, they may just need a bit of seduction...if you use the slamr charm, i am quite sure the ciscos will congregate and the fatties will follow...good luck...I however could mention a sleeper lake for ya...maybe be a bit of a drive...let me know...Ben

Posts: 166 Location: Gurnee, Illinois | Hey Slamr, hoping for the same thing, although I think the deep clear lakes still have abuout 8-10 degrees to go. We will be up fishing Presque Isle and Papoose. Where are you thinking about fishing.

Posts: 434 Location: searchin for 50 | The lakes that I fished this last weekend had just finished turning or were almost at the end.Water temps were 46 in the morning to 48 at the end of the day. Lake tom and minocqua chain and a smaller lake in the area is where we fished. Didn't see any fish on the big water . We saw a few on the smaller lake and managed a 37" on a tiger tube after we raised it on a weighted suick. It was a fatty for only 37. Trying to figure out how to get pictures on here.

Water temps are way too warm as I had between 49.5-51.5° on Presque Isle, Papoose, and the Manitowish Chain last weekend. The lakes need to come down another 10° before you'll find what you are looking for. I will be up there again Nov. 12, and I am not so so I will hit the spawn then eother.

Posts: 389 Location: Presque Isle Wisconsin | Travis hit it right on the head..Way to warm for ciscoes to start a spawning movement. At this rate it might be in December before that happens.Last year we had the major movement in the last week of November.I havnt even seen them in thier pre spawn staging areas as yet.

Posts: 185 Location: Mendota Heights, MN | Learn all about Cisco movements here: http://www.seagrant.wisc.edu/greatlakesfish/becker.html (well worth installing the plug-in) While the Cisco most liklely will not be spawning yet, there is a good chance that they will start staging. Find your spawning areas and then move out deeper to locate the staging schools. Then fish around these. Suckers and Jakes seem to work great for this, though a Fuzzy Duzzit is a good call as well. Posts: 389 Location: Presque Isle Wisconsin | Ciscoes moving much closer to spawning areas now on some lakes, but not all.The smaller to mid size cisco based lakes might be a better bet this weekend.Staying out after dark has not been a bad idea either on the very large lakes. The full moon moving closer will help also along with a few cold nights (25 degrees-last night ).Patience in a good spot has been a key for me this fall.Fish just a few known big fish areas and wait them out.Grandam may come for a visit.Im skipping the mornings, but staying late.

Posts: 389 Location: Presque Isle Wisconsin | Staying out late with Mr. MON..roe has led to the downfall of many young men and I'd advise against in the future. The next morning he was in pitiful shape, but as his luck would have it as soon as he dropped a sucker overboard it was promptly inhaled by a muskie which his partner in crime Mike (esox Chaser) hauled in.Mr.MON..roe left for a convention in Miami soon afterward and called me from the beach bar while I was on Presque Isle Lake in 50mph winds. Now thats cruel. Seriously.... see you you at Skyview soon. P>S. NIce to meet both of you guys

Posts: 166 Location: Gurnee, Illinois | Hey guys, had a great time despite the inability to put a fish in the boat. Had one sucker pickup on your lake, and ended up with a big wiff on the set. I saw all of you guys Saturday morning, some secret lake. Lets hook up next week. Dave
