A friend of mine developed a new trolling weight system that is so simple and easy to use it's surprising no one thought of it before. He has developed two kits; one for Muskie/Great Lakes, the other for walleye applications. The system uses a wire form and a simple loop in the line. The wire form also is a clip to change the weights when one desires. When removing the clip from the line it easily slips off, but won't slip or come off while fishing or fighting a fish. Brian tested this system for a year with great results.

Retail will be considerably less than alternative kits, from what I understand. I have a call in to them to get actual pricing.

Looks like a nice professional set! How does it work? For weighting casting baits, check out the jomusky weight set.

I have had a demo from Mr Settele at my house and its a great way to get your baits in the face of Walleyes and Muksies.

The best part is the way they slip off as the fish is about ready to be netted. VERY COOL IDEA and simple to use.

This is close to the hand line. You can get the bait down to where you want it to be regardless of the depth and lure choice.

I can't weight to use this as soon as the muskies head to deeper water. I know people are catching more fish because of this new product. Just ask some of the guides that fish the Fox and Green Bay area. They have been knocking the snot out of the Walleyes for a month already.

Think about how effective you could cover structure if you could keep your baits under your boat. The other great aspect is you can use any lures you want. Just adjust the weights for your needs.

Great new product.

Let me know how to get them as well. That is one of my goals this season, to encorperate using weights in my trolling runs for the very reason Mr. Extreme says. Keep those baits close. I know the Eastern boys do this already, and now the Midwest muskies have no where to hide. Very cool concept.

One end has the weight and the other(open end) has the larkhead knot attached to it. When the fish is brought to the boat the wire hook is slipped off the line.

Note the open end......thats how the system is removed from the line. Just simply grab the wire and pull the Larkhead knot off the open end. Very simple system. The Larkhead knot will not slip down the line. I was skeptical so we had to test it. It works, it stays and it is removed very easy.

I lost his phone number so Mr. MuskieFirst will have to post his contact info.

Here's some shots of the loop made and placed over the wire. Simple deal, easy to put on and get off the line when landing a fish.

There's also an ad or article in the SE Wisconsin Outdoor Journal. I'm definately on a set of these.
Trolling a shallow BD sounds interesting.
