| I've been thinking about bidding on a "trueglider Hustler" that is on Ebay right now. I have seen these baits in person and think that they are as beautiful(or more so) than HRs. That's the problem, they look so nice that my friend won't toss them. He has no idea if they work. So can anyone tell me anything about these baits. What's the action like. Are they like HR's or Amma Bammas,Smuttly dogs, etc ? Thanks in advance. | |||

Posts: 2089 | They run as good as they look.I like the 6" but it's big girl time. And once again, BIG GIRLS LOVE WOOD baits! And Joe's a nice guy to boot.Donuts on me!!!!! They do some of what the others do, and more. Each bait is individually made by hand .Longer glide on the bigger model, but the action of the "perch" is my fav. Steve

| Incredible paint jobs and clear coat. Realistic eyes are also a plus. 9 inch does have a long glide, perfect for cold water. Joe knows how to make a top drawer bait for sure. SV | |||

| I have fished with the 9" baits. I really like them. They have the longest glide of the dropbelly gliders. I don't work them real fast. They also suspend nice after the glide. I haven't fished with the six inchers, so I can't comment. HR's, smuttlys dogs and trueglides are all different, but all AAA league gliders. If you cast, and like gliders, you should own a few. Good Luck, PS Plus, Joe is a great guy | |||

Posts: 2427 Location: Ft. Wayne Indiana | I have yet to understand why somebody would buy a lure, and then say, "It's to pretty to throw." That really confuses me. Those lures are awsome, work great, have a great glide, and a little belly shimmy that those big girls love. I highly recommend getting your hands on a few of these lures!!!! And remember, lures are made to be used, not looked at!

Posts: 149 | I don't know how much they're going for on E-bay so I can't tell you if it's a good deal or not. I'll tell you this though, it's one of the best gliders I have in my box. I just got turned onto them this summer and I really like the 6-7" size. As for too pretty - nah - I have some that are too valuable now (LeLure's etc) but none that are too pretty. If you want a free Trueglide Humpback in Custom Carp, labeled #1, you can find it at the bottom of Kentuck. Tony G. can tell you where it is, if he hasn't picked it up himself. First cast for muskie, I thumbed the spool too hard and snappped the line then watched the Mo-fo sink to the bottom. I actually considered stripping down to get it. Still sore about that screw-up.

Posts: 149 | I had 80# tuffline which I had won in a raffle. All but that one reel have 65+ power pro on. I had been casting a bucktail on a different rod, switched to the humpback (very heavy lure), go for the home run cast, spool starts running away, I locked the spool with my thumb by mistake, big piece of wood took up slack - snap! - loud cursing - cruise over to landing point - gone. Uneasy moments of slience. I can't really blame it on the tuff line - mostly my fault - but it came off the reel that night.

| Wow Mike, I thought I had a few Trueglides but you sir have a few yourself. Do you leave the hook condoms on while fishing or just slip em back on when you're finished? I believe you are just supposed to use them once and throw em away. I've stated many times: "if you can find a better made/catching glide bait, I'll eat it." Joe is such a perfectionist in all aspects of his lures' development and production it is easy to see why collectors are all over these. They sure will conjure up beautiful memories in the long months ahead. I can't wait to see what he has for us this spring. capt bigfish | |||

Posts: 20281 Location: oswego, il | Capt, I think those are e-mail pics or posted pics from before. I do need to get me one of those baits. I am waiting for the guy to make one in a style i do not have. They look awesome. As far as line snapping, I don't care what size superline you have. If it stops instantaneously, your bait will sail off into the sunset, I have even had it happen to 100lb.
