Location: Northern Illinois | Going through my baits to see which ones did well this year, I realized I had some of my best results from a new-to-me lure. The Shallow Swimming Dawg for me was the new bait that had the best results by far. Maybe it's how or where I fish or maybe it's the ease of use, this bait caught a lot of fish for me including my best last year. I was wondering, what new bait worked best for you guys? |

| For me, the shallow swimmin' dawg was my best new bait in 2020. This year, it was the Frankensuick. |

| My son has a Swimming Dawg that has seen a lot of success and is chewed to pieces. For me, I have added the Whale Tail and Royal Orba to the "new to me" baits I throw. Have been quite successful with both baits. |

They were 13 apiece. Seemed like they were the same price regardless if they were 10 or 18". |

| For trolling- 2 new ones did very well for me first the Crazy Train from Muskie Train
It's a 5" wandering crank with crazy action that the fish destroy.
Caught some fish casting with this bait also

and the Magnum Diesel was the other very good producer for me

For casting it was the New Pugsly from Spanky Baits lot of big fish caught on this bait last summer and fall.

Location: Northern IL | I'm always open to something better or cheaper but not sure I'll ever put into my arsenal a "New to me" lure. I've basically used the same 4 or 5 type lures for the past 26 years and don't see any reason to look elsewhere. Depth, Speed, Done! |

| Crushed them on the IC9 up in Canada last fall. Certainly adding more to the line up. Be open to change and willing to experiment or be left behind ! |

Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota | Still pretty new to musky fishing seriously but of the 15 fish I caught this year 12 were on twitching a 7” slammer in golden shiner. Caught fish from July through the 2nd week of November on it, definitely will be throwing cranks a lot in the future |

It does help immensely that your sitting on a warm water discharge with an absolute pile of fish below the boat. They will hit anything at times with the competitive nature of the school. |

Location: Mauston, Wisconsin | jerryb - Great little video. I've heard of muskies caught on a pine cone, a corn cob, a stick, and there's a video of one in Minnesota going after a chicken carcass (cooked leftover).
Yes, 5 lures is all you need.....if everyone is throwing Shallow Swimming Dawgs, they will get bit sooner or later. Its pure statistics then, they are the hot bait...
