I am making a trip to Northern Minnesota later this month and plan to do some trolling. What do you recommend for a rod and reel for trolling, without breaking the bank? I plan to use 10 inch Jakes and Trolling Girls. Also, for line, is 100 lb. PowerPro a good choice, or is mono better since it has some stretch to it?

Sorry - I posted this in the wrong forum the fist time by accident

Everyone seems to use 8' hvy shimano tdr rods and okuma convector 30s w 100lb braid if you are on a budget, just do a search on trolling rods and reels in this forum.
