I personally have never fished with suckers and do not know a lot about it. I was thinking about dragging a sucker behind the boat while I cast.

I fish in Wis. on mostly class A lakes and trolling is not legal on them. If I am dragging a sucker along behind the boat while I am casting and using my trolling motor to move me along, is this considered trolling because I am not reeling in any line while moving the boat along with a motor?

Hodag,

Check out the post on this forum entitled "Sucker Lakes in Vilas County". We have been talking about it a little. This is still a huge grey area with the DNR. I for one received a $150 ticket for doing exactly what you are asking about - 2 years ago. Some will give you a warning, others will be jerks and write you a ticket and let you get out of it.

I suggest row trolling the suckers and not putting yourself in the situation. Only a suggestion from someone who has already paid the price.
