I will finally be installing my LMS520 and LCX113 in my boat. Should I network them in a NMEA 2000 or keep them stand alone? What are the advantages and disadvantages? Another gps is only a little more that the components needed to network.

Network them. Share data between them, share waypoints, etc. On GPS antenna serves both units.
