What's the general take on tournaments on small lakes? Do you guys feel that having regular muskie tournaments on small lakes can have a negative impact on the fishery? Even a catch and release tournament can subject fish to excessive handling by the anglers to obtain exact measurements, verification by a judge boat, etc. resulting in delayed mortality,or just excessive stress on the fish maybe affecting long term growth rates and health of the fish in the system. Not to mention crowds of tournament fishermen making a tough day for the average angler, just out to have a peaceful day on the water. Would you say that the revenue generated by these tournaments to increase stockings outweighs the above factors.

Matt, it all depends on how many fish they can stock from it. It is a one day tourny and the whole purpose of putting fish in those lakes out there, like every place else is tourism dollars. I am glad I know the tourny is there and I will be fishing a couple miles south of there on another lake.
