Location: Northern Wisconsin | It can be hard to fish a jerkbait if you have no confidence in them. I would recommend getting a few suicks, both 9" and 10", weighted and non weighted. They will catch fish and like they say, "there is no wrong way to work a suick". For colors you can't go wrong with black or a sucker pattern but bright colors like chartreuse black dot and firetiger have also worked well for me. I have over a dozen suicks of all colors and most have had action so color isn't the biggest deal in my opinion. There are alot of posts on how to tune them so you could do a search and find out.
About big jerks: I have been using a 12" bobbie bait recently with good results, its a great bait to rip through weeds. My favorite jerk I own is a 10" suick that I bought bare and spray painted silverish grey. |
