Was up around St. Germain area last week. Went up Friday the 10th and came home Sunday the 18th. Fished the tournament 16th, 17th and 18th.
Fished Razorback, Buckatobon, Big Saint and Little Saint. Over the course of the week we saw 54 muskies. 5 of which were boated undersize. Biggest was 31 1/2". Caught 8 northerns to 32" also.
Was first musky trip for my 11 year old daughter. Was real proud of her. She fished with me for 3 full days, learned how to use a baitcaster and caught 2 of the northerns. She saw me catch an undersize one and thought it was a blast. Hopefully she's hooked like me now.
Was only disappointed in the fact that we didn't boat any legals. Got kind of frustrated towards the end of the week. Had them patterned real good until Saturday morning when the cool front and rain passed through. They were doing real good on twitch baits, bucktails and jerks on the weed edges and tops. Tried but nothing out of the deep water.
Did not win the Ranger from the tournament. That was kind of disappointing too but I'll be back next year. How often is it you get a 1 in 990 chance to win a 20k boat??
Will be back up there in October for the St. Germain tournament.
