| Saturday morning,50+ anglers turned out for a day on the water, Most had never fished Heidecke located in Morris IL a former cooling lake which the plant has been shut down, Steady Drizzzle started the day,Air temps in the 60s water in the mid 50s providing,great Muskie conditions.A slow start turned with judge boat calls for big stripers and catfish,A short fish 28-1/2" was netted mid morning, Sun popped up between clouds, then a chunky 39-1/2" fish was taken By Matt Sutter and Jeff Koslowski on a shap rap, which would hold for 1st place. Shortly thereafter a 37-1/2" fish was taken. There were several reports of fish lost next to the boat.Proving there are Muskies in Heidecke lake. Overall a great success, American Valor Outdoors Filmed the event out of my boat getting some great footage. A petition was started to raise the lake limit from 36" Please if you are an Il fisherman get with your local chapter club to propose a petition for this cause, any questions please e-mail me.
