Random quote: Muskies are nasty. They stink. They taste bad. They are hard to catch and will disappoint even the most devoted angler. The lures required cost more than some women's jewelry. The rods and reels require a remortgage of the house. The boat is always worth more than the tow vehicle. Sure beats the hell out of golf.

Subject: Ultra Minnow Spinnerbaits

I am starting to makie my own spinnerbaits from scratch. Just wondering if anyone knows how or where I could pick up larger size ultra minnow heads. The only pre-made and molds I could find online come in 1 oz. sizes. I am looking for larger 2 oz and 3 oz. heads. Anyone know where I could find these or how to make molds for these heads? Thanks

Dan, the Ultra Minnow "Jig" mold can be easily modified to make a spinnerbait if you need bigger sizes. You just need to make a slot in the mold (with a hacksaw blade) for the wire. The Ultra Minnow SHR-4-M makes 1/2 to 1 1/2 oz. The SHR-3-L makes 2,3,and 4 oz heads. PM me if you have questions regarding modifying the mold. A lot of the large jig molds make great Musky spinnerbait heads. I really like the big Erie Head mold.

Other than that, I know Reinke Bros. in Milwaukee is making up the big Ultra Minnow Spinnerbaits. You just have to finish them. His number is 414-383-5591 and he does mail-orders.
