Would you put split rings on tallywackers or have tried it did the hooks get hooked together on casts?

There`s one thing that I`ve tried and had decent success. I take off the hook holding hardware, split the distance between the two front hooks and add an eye screw with a little bigger wide bend treble on the front half of the bait. I`ve done this to several and didn`t miss anymore hook-ups with the 2 hook model as I did with the 3-hook.
I did notice that a couple of them wanted to roll over, a trait that this bait has anyway, so I added some lead tape strips to the front of the bait and it seemed to take care of the problem.
Let me be the first to say, if you want a Tallywacker that doesn`t tangle, buy a Top Raider.
