Subject: 24 volt ??

I just purchased a mod 824 auto pilot from a buddy who never used it and it's a 24 volt. How exactly do I hook this up ? I know this has been brought up before and I didn't pay attention because I ran a 12 volt. Any answers are appreciated.

I have a 24 volt system and I this is how I hooked it up:

Red wire to the positive on one of the bats. Black wire to the negative on the other bat. Then use the little black connector wire to go between the remaining negative on the one bat and the remaining positive on the other bat.
