Subject: trailer light problem

I was having problems and found a bad wire so I replaced the 4 prong adapter on the trailer. Now the blinkers work but no tail or brake lights. Any ideas to why the blinkers work but no tail/brakelights on the trailer. By the way, the wiring on the truck is new and in good shape. Thanks for your help.

Go to Fleet Farm or another 'like' store and get the little tester plug that plugs into your truck lights. If it works properly, and the LED lights on the plug do what they are supposed to, then the problem is in the trailer wiring. It takes a process of elimination to find the culprit on the trailer, but it is usually a bad ground, bad light bulb connections, blown bulbs or wiring that is shorted or broken.
