If you are soaking a sucker while casting do you?....

Have reel on freespool with clicker on?
Use a bobber? (keep sucker from going too deep)
Clip the tail? (reduce swimming, struggle more)
Have it right next to boat? (to be seen by follows)
Cast it out a ways? (seems like trouble with electric, unless camped)
Set the hook straight up or to the side?

thanks.

Have reel on freespool with clicker on? Yes

Use a bobber? Yes, I like to susend my sucker. I like having my bait above the musky.

Clip the tail? No, I put a tail gunner on the sucker. This would either be a blade or made of flashabou.

Have it right next to boat? No, usually I have it a little ways away from the boat.

Cast it out a ways? Sort of... I don't cast it, suckers don't like that. I let line out to get the sucker or suckers away from the boat. I usually have two suckers out while I am casting. It doesn't pose me any problems with the electric. I am always casting still and position fishing. I only do this in the Fall.I would start mid to late September in Northern WI, but not until mid- October in Southern WI.

Set the hook straight up or to the side? Straight up, I go with the try to break your rod theory. I prefer the rubber band QS rigs.
