After windstorms and mudslides crippled Mauser's phone line for four days, he finally called me Thursday night. "Let's go fishing, I've already got the boat packed!" says I. So, Friday morning we met in Marietta, Ohio and traveled to Leesville Lake. We fished the south branch, and in a weedbed across from the 'W', Mauser got a 34" muskie on his black cherry sledge that his sick lil mind has named "Mikie". Fish number 8 for that bait, which I got at Tony Grant's lodge during the very first MuskieFirst outing as a freebee. Having absolutely no idea how to use the thing, I traded it for a topper stopper (one of my many baits that still has not caught a fish). Congrats to Mauser for his first fish of 2004, it was a chunky one with what looked like a prop cut on its back. Photos will have to wait until I get the rest of the roll shot up. Can I get a whoo-hoo? m

Mikie....

Me thinks if you and the loveable hillbilly are going to pass through WI this year it would be way cool if you could stop and fish with Jason and me for a day...:)

Come to think of it...he caught the first fish of the Sabaskong outting last year on that sledge casting from the Island...Good trade..
