| I figured I'd just make a separate thread for my report. Fished July 11th-18th out of Century in Osbourne Bay....ended up landing 3 muskies not counting the portage lake. I lost two more mid 40's at the boat that I hooked on the 8, and a few more that I had on for just a few seconds.. The girlfriend lost an upper 30's at the boat which would have been her first, but we did the muskie portage afterwards so that helps. Some guys were saying it was the toughest fishing they've experienced due to the weather, but I guess I'm too used to gin clear trout water so I was happy lol.
Weather was HOT the first couple of days. Water temps were 77-78 early morning and late evening due to heavy wind, but I saw 82 in bays first half of the week, so we left the muskies alone then. Spent a lot of the day Sunday floating around on some pool floaties we brought.
I found most fish on rocks, and if there was a weed patch even better. Gold or copper colored bucktails/blades were the most productive, but I also raised fish on a 9" grandma, 6" jake, fat bastard, and jackpot.
I'll also add that Randy at Century gives you way more information than any other lodge I've been at. He marked up a map and gave specific spots for any species you want. He also came around every day asking if we're seeing/catching fish, and also asked if we needed more spots to try. I also saw him take a group out and mark a walleye reef for them they were having trouble finding. The customer service was really top notch. Randy also re-arranged his schedule to take us to the numbers muskie lake, so I greatly appreciated that...and especially my girlfriend lol. We'll definitely be back.
