| Aiden Johnson is an 18-year-old muskie guide who has found his place in the fishing industry guiding in the Twin Cities Metro area. On August 9th, he caught 47- and 39-inch muskies on Lake Vermillion to take first place in the Minnesota High School Tournament. Aiden will speak on his experience as a very young guide in today's society. Aiden mainly guides on Forest, White Bear and Bald Eagle and will present unique tactics targeting pressured metro muskie, and new patterns.
Our November meetings have been a member's mix, with them giving tips from their own experiences. If any of you would like to present your tips, let us know and we will add you to the group.
Greg Ide will start us off. He hasn't bought a one-piece rod in over 50 years. Multi-piece rods are essential if you do a lot of fly-in fishing. As you drive down the road with your 10-foot rod hanging out the window, know there are alternatives. Greg notices many of you have fished for decades but have never made a proper cast. What, you palm a reel with a short rod to work walk-the-dog topwater lures? Yikes, there is an easier way. Greg will also have tips on winterizing, tailer repair and more. Ben Collette will add some late season tips.
We will be meeting at Sweeney's Saloon, 96 Dale Street North, St. Paul
Come around 5 pm if you want to enjoy appetizers or a meal with us beforehand. Join fellow fishermen in Ashland Room next to the bar. Meeting will be upstairs at 7 pm. You do not have to be a Muskies Inc member to attend.
