Location: Chippewa Falls, WI		I've used 9" shallow raiders for years but I've had a lot of problems with them taking on water the past couple seasons. I've never busted a lip off any of them however. What big minnow baits do you prefer that have a lip that can hold up to the abuse of banging rocks? Considering slammer and custom x...broke the lip off a couple custom x baits I bought at the 2015 Mn expo so I'm hesitant to buy more. I haven't fished any big slammer minnow baits so I'm leaning towards picking a few of them up to try.

Location: Apparently where the Muskie aren't		Shallow invaders seem to hold good. I don't bang rocks to much, but when I do want to fish like that they hold up nice.

Location: Elroy, Wisconsin		I have had the best luck with Grandmas and Big fork deep divers. Sometimes the big girls are in 2 ft. but my time is spent in 4 to 6 ft. when they are shallow.

Muskie Train MX series baits can take a lot of abuse. They have a rounded lip and are bouyant. Trolled or casted.

Location: Minnesota.		Not likely THE answer for you re "grinding" rocks - but when I toss around rock piles that vary from 1ft deep to 5-6ft deep I'll be pitching some SS Shads. Surface type, I know but they get attention!

Have you tried the Bondy Prophet? It's a new solid body floater with through wire and a custom cut thick aluminum lip that we cut on a plasma cutter. Check out our ad for it in Rollie and Helens catalog.

Legend Plow has worked good for me. I've trolled them for up to 6 hours straight bouncing rock bottom w/ very little wear on the lip.

I've done good on the musky trains also. Mx9 and mx7.5 trolled and casted them banging rocks. Caught some nice fish on them and have yet to break a lip. They have pretty good action ripped and twitched.

I rip my minnow baits when casting so I prefer a square lip rather than rounded most of the time and prefer the larger minnow baits for maximum flash and vibration. I only use this tactic in wind when the fish are on shallower rock reefs. I've had some great days on LOTW doing this.

Location: Eagle Lake Vermilion Bay, Ontario		for rippn and bouncing shallow a flat sided bait it's tough to beat old staples jake for 3'-5' and and grama for 5-8' which covers alot of casting rocks on the woods but...sometimes they will end up leaking through the line tie or lip with alot of abuse. l i've had good luck banging slammers casting and trolling..they are a tough bait, dont leak as they are solid resin,got a square lip that ricochets off rocks well and got a great flash/vibs.
also the musky train high rail for very shallow and the low rail for 4-6'. built solid, wood well sealed and coated wont leak
for just plain seriously grinding into and through serious rocks 3-8' a jointed believer or a 7.5 muskie train mx as is for 2-5' or with a weight insert 5/8" behind front hook and 5/8 oz weight for 4-7' are tough to beat.
for a combination twitching/bouncing rocks,coming off the edge into a deeper break and hanging i killed it with the livingston striker last fall. just enough bouyancy to bounce but lacking enough to hang/suspend just long enough.herbie

The Bondy Prophet won't take on water & it has an aluminum lip that can handle crashing into the rocks.

Muskie Train Hi-Rail is a great twitcher. For really pounding into the rocks a Muskie Train MX7.5 and MX9 are great for this. I have pounded them into rocks casting and trolling and never had a lip break. Caught some big fish on them.

I am starting to like the Storm giant flatstick for banging rocks. The lip will take a ton of abuse and they are fairly inexpensive compared to some of the other baits out there...so if you hang one up...it doesn't hurt so bad. I can get them down about 5-6' depending on how they are worked.

You guys aren't having problems with the flatsticks leaking?? All 3 of the ones I bought took on water..

Same problem here with the flatsticks, bought 2 and they both leaked first time used.
