I'm going to be staying at a cabin on the Eagle chain this weekend (towards eagle and otter), and have never been to the area. I know there are a lot of guys on here that have fished it, and I was hoping someone could give me some advice. Should I be worried about turnover on the chain? Are the fish shallow or deep this time of year, or can I expect them to be in all areas yet? My plan was to drag some smaller suckers around and cast jerks and rubber, anything else I should be considering? I intend to hang around yellow birch and scattering rice since I'm nearby. Are the small sections of River any good? Thanks in advance for any help, pm if you'd rather.

Eagle will definitely hold some bigger fish and has bigger drop offs compared to many nearby connected lakes. With the rubbers and suckers, there is a point and drop off by a cannon on the North West (I believe, trying to picture it in my head) part of the lake. I have also had good luck randomly throughout the entire East short. Scattering Rice has been good to me in the past as well, but usually in early season as it is pretty shallow. Never had much luck there late.
