I am looking to buy some of these. By far the best hooks I have seen. They are a short shank round bend. They don't even need sharpened. Does anyone know who makes them and where.they can be purchased?

There are alot of different black nickel hooks out there.
We would need a picture to know what brand you are after.

I like VMC 8650BN

Best hook ever is the Owner ST-36 but they are 3/0 max, but they are truly awesome.

I will try and post a.picture. I have a bucket baby depth raider with them on it and some other baits too. I think the biggest I have seen is 3/0. Similar shape to the mustad short shank round bend. These are pure black.

Try emailing the lure manufacturer on the size and brand of hook.
I always get a quick response when I do this.

Steve, those are not them. Hook bend is 100% round. The Bucher bait is the only of its kind I have with those hooks. I have some others too even bought a 5 dollar sale bait at bass pro with them on it. When I get home will post a pic. These hooks just seem to pin the fish and keep them pinned.

One of these may be it, the Gamakatsu image is better.

If I recall correctly those hooks were made by VMC specifically for Bucher tackle.

Here is the hook. Appears to be the same hook on the storm baits too. Steve these look like the ones in your last links. Thanks a bunch for the help.

owner stinger 36 are the best, the bad thing is they don't make anything larger than 3/0.the largest bait that i use for the 3/0 is the kicknminnow when i use a cranks larger than that i switch to mustad and its really not by pleasure

Todd- those look like the VMC Cone Cut hooks in Black Nickel. Many places sell the VMC Cone Cuts but I have only found the black nickel ones from LPO. They are awesome! I use them for my sucker rigs and bucktails mostly. They are super sharp ready to go. Someone did mention the Owner st-36 earlier, that's prob not it but in my opinion, by far the sharpest and best black nickel hooks, but they are expensive and hard to find in Musky sizes.
