Hi Tony, Kind of like asking if your Big Game companies baits are Grandmas.... Nice paint jobs on your lures too. Where did you get those ideas from? Also, never seen an 11" Shad Rap...

I thought we were done with this kind of crap a few years ago Tony? But from what I hear this is who you are so I guess its is in your nature to be like this..... If you have a problem with me or my products call me. 952-334-3633

I agree. Public bashing of people and their business on forums is offside.
I appreciate James' products
A least you used your name and not guest though but it was still rude.

So Tony do you like the paint work, thats what the subject is about.
Lets see:
Mag shad looks like a super shad rap, But made of ABS plastic and 11 inches long? Rapala does not offer this
There are many Wiley copies and hybrids of this lure, but they are different
A Spanky looks like a Cowgirl, But they are very different
There are a lot of shad baits, you make one. again they are differnt
There are copies of Bill Cranes lures, like a Big Game twitcher
The Grand River Glide bait is a copy of the glidin rap, but made out of cedar or cherry- they fish different, Rapala does not offer this or the custom paint job.
Tony I own several of your lures and they all work great
There and many copies of lures, they all work a little different, they all shine in different situations, they all equal "1 tool in the tool box".
The Grand River Glide bait used some paint techniques from Solarfall and Mark Smith. ( that's a complement to those guys)  Some of your Big Games have paint schemes like Bill Cranes lures. The point is so what! This board is about sharing ideas. One idea leads to other great ideas including yours
I look forward every day to getting on this board to see what these talented builders and painters come up with. James and other lure companies offer their lure blanks for custom painters, Would you sell blanks? That would be awesome.

Big Game baits are almost exact copies of Crane baits Tony. Hope you stop making those so you don't look like a fool here running your mouth off.

This is all exactly one of the reasons I strive to create a lure design which is completely original and my own idea. Nobody can say a thing to me about copying anything out there even though some have tried. Crankbaits, are what they are however and we all know that pretty much everything has been done over the years, well almost everything. However, I do appreciate when folks take extra efforts in creating something a little different....This is not a knock to ANYONE either. Because I feel theres a fine line between obvious copying and making modifications (even simple ones) to make a design your own...after that, its all about personal judgment, shame or pride...The same, IMHO, goes for painting and painting techniques....Yes of course we all learn from one another and pick up new techniques and ideas from one another....However, as I've said many times before in this forum, I seriously appreciate an artists unique and specific look. That "look" only comes from each and every individual's style from hand and there are truly just a few here who naturally have it. Not knocking copied techniques either, since it is the way we all learn new things and new ways of painting....Its kinda like drawing I guess...theres natural talent and theres learned talent and you can tell one from the other. The same goes with making/building sculptures, which esentially is exactly what lure making is...After ALL that its all about getting a toothy fish to eat your creation, and maybe thats all some creators really are concerned most about...I feel in the end though, if you put the time in with your creations - whatever they may be, getting the fish to eat them is the easy part

Rewarding too!!

Well this thread is taking a turn for the worse; and oh my, ain’t that the pot calling the kettle black…

There has been some very unscrupulous “borrowing” in this industry in my opinion, but there isn’t much you can do about it but accept it and hold yourself to your own moral standard.

I just wish that one DB would stop blowing up my FB newsfeed with his relentless promoting…
