Heading out to chase MONSTER Illinois muskies on the beautiful Fox Chain tomorrow. Can you feel my sarcasm?

Who else is still hitting the water for 'skies, or will you be out in the woods in pursuit of Bambi?

As an avid bowhunter its time to be in a tree in Iowa! - I've passed a 1/2 dozen 135-150" deer the last two weekends, I'll probably eat my tag this year, looking for a big boy

This'll be my last weekend fishing hard. Might get out a few hours here and there between now and 12/1, but not putting in serious time like I will be the next two days. Hopefully the hard work pays off.

I envy you. I think we have more wolves than deer up here.

On vacation next week. Debating between shore casting at the Harley ensign launch on st clair or a river closer to me that dumps into Erie that is supposed to hold some muskie.

Yep -I have two over 150" the last five years and a couple others around 145... you cant shoot a 165"+ if you shoot the first 150" you see every year, so yes I've passed a 9 point that I know would gross 150" .. I've passed him three times , twice less than 10 yards (on two different days)..part of my decision is because he's most likely a 3.5 (maybe 4.5) and will be 160" + next year

I think you live in wolf country as well...

I have seen two dead bucks in the past 5-6 years that were killed by wolves. Nice ones as well. One was pushing 150. So much for them taking only the young and the weak..

The deer (especially nice bucks) numbers are way down where I live. That is actually why I basically quit hunting. Oh well, fall muskie fishing has been just as fun.

Going out on the Fox Chain Monday, will be fishing shallow, deep and somewhere in between casting and trolling, what ever works the best.
Good Luck, Tom

Yeah its wolf country. I saw one that was maaaybe 150 the other day when I was driving. Biggest buck I've seen in Northern MN. I know there are a few around though.
