How old is he? my son who turned 11, loves the balsa baits. I do too. light weight, easy to cast and reel in and best of all, they catch fish!. He has caught a 37+ on the bottom bait and hooked a 53+ on the top bait this year and a giant bass. they do get chewed up quickly but who cares. the fish they produce is more than worth it. though the only bait shown in the 4" range (the bottom), I believe it is a 4.5" others are 5.5" and 6-7". the 5.5" ss shad is my all time favorite crank. You can make it do some amazing things when mastered to get fish and i have caught dozens with them. big game smoker tackle ss shad Bill cranes are probably the biggies in balsa baits. Posts: 20255 Location: oswego, il | He isn't going to like the drag of a musky crankbait for very long. Size wise get him a jackall triple jointed crank. Rookie and Helens sell them.

Posts: 1202 Location: Money, PA | Do you want a crank that does the work for ya...dodges back and forth and zig zags on its own and all a kid has to do is straight reel? And very little drag! Not to mention it has caught hundreds of fish already this past summer trolling as well! 4.5" Scatter Hammer - Attachments ---------------- ![]()
