Operation Muskie provides recent combat veterans with the fishing trip of a lifetime on Lake of the Woods. Each year, Operation Muskie pairs a group of 20 vets with 10 of the greatest fishing guides for an all-expenses-paid, fully-guided "welcome home" at world-famous Bay Store Camp.

This year will be Operation Muskie’s 6th year and is scheduled for June 23 – 28, 2013. With the help and support of our many great sponsors and staff, we’ll be sending our 101st - 120th Veterans on an opportunity to relax and enjoy camaraderie, the outdoors, and incredible muskie fishing. Thanks to all the continued support that make this great organization sustainable!

If you are a Veteran returning from a recent combat deployment and are interested in participating in Operation Muskie 2013, please visit our web site for more information and application. “Open Season” for application closes Feb 28, 2013. http://www.operationmuskie.com/veteranapplications.html

The entire Operation Muskie staff volunteer their time to support this great cause. The cost is approximately $1500 per Veteran per year. In order to raise the operating cost, Operation Muskie conducts several fund raisers.

On Sat, Feb 16, Operation Muskie will host a muskie bait swap at the Best Western Midway hotel on Moorland Rd in Brookfield, Wi. This is the Sat of the Milwaukee Muskie Expo and has been a great fund raiser and a very fun night. It only costs $5 to get in. 100% of proceeds go to support Veterans participating in Operation Muskie. Anyone interested in selling their lures can set up a table for free. The entry fee will also enter you into a large raffle. There will be many other great items up for auction and raffle. More information on the bait swap can be found on the MuskieFirst General Discussion forum: http://muskie.outdoorsfirst.com/board/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=81...

In addition, we’ll also host an online auction. The date is not set yet, but expect it to be in April with more information to be posted on MuskieFirst.

Many lure manufacturers, guides, clubs and resorts have contacted me offering donations for the auction. Thanks for your continued support! If you are interested in supporting OM, please zap me a PM and/or stop by the OM booth during the Milwaukee Expo.

Every year I am amazed at the generosity to support our Vets. OM is primarily funded by individuals and small companies.

OM is truly non-profit. It is run and sustained by ALL volunteers. All guides and staff volunteer their time.

Thanks to everyone that helps support this great cause... Taking care of our Vets!

Got a box of baits and 2 rods for the Milwaukee show coming next week. Plan on sending at least 60 baits for the event this year too so the vets can have a few extra baits to throw. Can't wait to see the pictures this year! Lots of smiles last year

I have not set a date yet. I expect it to be mid Apr... so probably after the Minnesota show. Expect final date to be posted in the next few weeks.

Thanks to Tuffy boats... They are providing the first keg of beer. In addition, OP Muskie will provide snacks (chips, cheese & crackers).

I'm going to donate a variety of lures for the outing, you just let me know where to send them and when the on line auction is. A real pleasure meeting you and the boys at the swap.
