| Wondering if anyone has a fix for issues with the Bull Dawgs spinning. When I retreive a pounder it seems to want to roll, I don't think this is quite right. I am using a leader thats about 14" and 130lb Fluro, with just a snap on the end that attaches to the lure.
I tried doing a search, however the search function doesn't seem to work for me. |

| are you sure its a weighted one??? the unweighted ones roll if worked at other then slow speeds
the only cure Ive found is attaching a 1/2 oz-1 oz bell sinker to the front hook split ring that sometimes makes it track straight |

Location: Kronenwetter, WI | I have an older pounder that runs great...nice and deep and balanced. I have two newer ones...prodawgs maybe?...they run shallower and, yes, roll. They are not shallow versions either...maybe have to try the bell sinker idea although ......I shouldn't have to.
I've been meaning to place each on a scale to see if the older ones are heavier....does anyone have any idea what this is about? |

| I noticed this and the fact that they tumple alot on the cast and foul very often as opposed to some of the older ones that cast nicely and run right. Disappointing. |

| I found you cannot work a shallow Tackle Industries MegaD pounder or shallow MI Dawg very fast. They are made to work nice and slow. I cut my side fins off all my dawgs ans MegaD pounders. For teh ones I want to troll fast I add a small egg weight to the front slit ring. That adds enough balast for it to do well for trolling. Also mind your internal harness and make sure you tune it to run the way you want it. It does not take much to tune the lures. |

| I had this problem with a regular weighted Mega D. No matter how I tuned it it still wanted to roll when worked at any speed and would even come out of the water sometimes. I cut off the top hook and buried one point of each treble into the belly of it. Now it runs perfect but I'm not sure if it will affect the hooking ability. Anyone else bury the trebles into the belly of Dawgs or D's? It also helped with not fouling on the cast as often... |

| The fix is to not use the ProDawg Pounders. Every ProDawg Pounder I've used (7 or 8) wants to at least run on its side when I apply anything more than a tap. Pulls or rips, the more intense my manipulation, the more intense the rolling. Use the regular Pounder instead. |

| Attatching a splitring trough the eye of the hook can maybee help.
When the snap is arround the eye it starts spinning.
Otherwise i don,t have problems with them.
But maybee i,m just plain lucky. |

| Pro dawgs can be tuned, the front half of the bait still has solid wire in it. Use two hands, with one grab the very front of the bait and the other behind the front treble hook you can bend this to tune them so they will track straight in the water. The way i understand the Pro Dawgs are made there are two rings of wire that are looped together, (kind of like a chain) so the back of the bait is moveable. Or i will take them off your hands for you.... |

| Every ProDawg Pounder I've used, you can look down the belly and see that it is not flat, but twisted slightly. The twist continues the whole length of the body, so trying to tune the front wire of the flexible harness does not address the entire twist. Nice thing about the ProDawg, though, is the roll makes it a shallower runner than the regular Pounder. I can fish it real nice and easy over/through shallow weeds. |
