I'm having a steak, some crab legs, and a couple cocktails in the comfort of my own home while snuggled in the bosom of my family. With an emphasis on the couple.

'08 was weird one. How about that economy? Aye carumba. I fear we may be visited in '09 by the ghost of Tom Jode. I've been checking my voicemail and email in hopes I would receive my government bailout, but I think the Feds may have lost my numbers.

That election turned out to be a real yawner. Good luck to President Obama. He's walking into a real mess.

My business was up early in the year, then wwwaaaaayy down for months on end, then up, up, up in the last month for a smashing finish. I'm thinking about cloning myself so I can get more done while the doing is hot. I'm afraid the current low interest rates will wear off soon like a generic Viagra.

Anyone know a good cloner?

My daughter showed signs of promise as a young lady golfer. I pretty much gave up fishing to again tour the links of SE WI. My wife was a rock. I'd fly out of control without her. My mother's 84th year was a struggle, yet as this weekend and her 85th approaches, she seems to have tossed a couple years off her chronometer. Go figure. She's like the stock market. Our Westie remained a constant, but adorable irritant. I don't foresee a change in '09.

I missed seeing my M1st friends in person, but kept in touch with what I hope were perceived as minimally annoying private messages and the occasional phone call. I enjoyed knowing that if I visit this site on a daily basis, more than likely each week I will see a person smiling in Sorno's boat holding his first Tiger. Andrew's grouchiness remained a mystery because his wife is just so darn nice.

Packers and Badgers disappointed, while the Brewers titillated. The Simpsons keep going strong. As long as they do, so will the U.S. of A.

I need to start cooking and stop typing. One Canadian Club and my stream of consciousness is starting to ice up.

A good friend once told me that fishing is good for the soul. He's kind of corny that way. I've found that knowing some good fishermen is good for my soul.

Get ready 2009. Your posterior is in for some serious kicking.

Kevin

Steve, I don't think the demand is there for more than one licensed beaver guide.

Ended 08 on a sour note. Was notified today that my company will not be retained to support the contract I have worked for the last 5 years. My last day of current employment will be Jan 31, 09. I now am slated for unemployment unless I can find work within the next month. Bummer. Having just finished my MBA, I should be able to get back in the saddle pretty quick. Starting with a new company is sure gonna play havok with my vacation schedule. Here's looking forward to a fruitful 2009.

Well, 2008 was a decent year for me, with some ups and downs, but nothing out of the ordinary.

The fishing side of the year was not all that great, but I will take what it gave. I found out that catching a muskie on a homemade lure is very satisfying. I also found out that thick fog on Lake Michigan at night is one of the most terrifying feelings ever!!

We sold our home and purchased a new one all in a 1 month time frame. That turned out to be extremely stressful. It was also kind of a neat experience at the same time.'

The outings this year were a riot, fininshing up with the PI outing is always a blast. (Never met a Beaver guide untill then)

Finally, this year ended with a bang as my wife and I found out that we are expecting our 2nd child sometime near the end of June.

Hope everyone has a happy and safe end to 2008, and a wonderful start to 2009.
Happy New Year

Mike

Well Merckid and I are working on ending 2008 in true Pointer style (even though I'm no longer a pointer). Celebrating with Miller Lights. Though I'm 2 hours ahead of TJ. Here is to a good 2009. I will be giving up most alcohol and having the goal to lose 50 lbs by May. Here is to hoping.

With less than 15 min. Until the new year I'm sitting here in my cabin looking over the frozen Lost Lake in St. Germain, WI. Wife and both kids are sawing logs as I punch tiny keys on my Blackberry by the fire.

My last can of Bud is running low and I wish each and every one of you musky addicted knuckle-heads a happy and rewarding new year.

Lose 50lbs, heck at the rate your going with the beer tonight, you'll gain 50 before losing 50!

'09 = more golf. Let's get your son and my daughter together. In six or seven years, they could be a team in Big Break XX. $100,000, a couple Mercedes, and spots on the PGA and LPGA Tours.

Happy New Years everyone. 2008 was good to my family and myself and hopefully that trend continues.

However, who's idea was it to get smashed on New Years Eve? I'm finally back to functioning now that it's 2:30. Surprise lobster dinner at my parents house and they even had my little ones stay over so I could go hang out with my wife for the 1st time on New years since my little ones have been born. But a few rooster poops later, one martini, and too many beers and I'm a sore man today. I must be getting old.

Hope everyone has a great 2009!!!!
