Location: Bloomington, MN | I did a quick search, and didn't see any reports on what folks think of the 12" Suicks. My fishing this year has been very limited and is probably over, but the the 12" weighted Suick is my most favorite "new" bait in many years. I've seen (not caught) numerous fish on my 5 day trip to Mille Lacs with this lure. I had a few tanks take a look, and even had a couple upper 30"s come up with the possible notion to munch. That seemed to be the story this summer on that lake no matter what you might be throwing, but I did see a majority of the fish on that vs. the BIG blade baits. It is an easy working bait with great hang time. Another infrequently mentioned hunk of wood to throw is the 16" Hawg Teaser by Hawg Seeker Tackle. Tough to cast, easy to work, with a dead rise that has a great "shimmey", and will at least wake up anyone looking in the drink. I'm NOT promoting any tackle company, but for you MuskieFirsters that think you just need to toss close to a pound or so of rubber, or drag Mr. Sucker... there are other options. It's time to show these "educatuted" fish something they haven't seen in a while! WOOD!!!! Unlike the Ford Model "T", they do make them in other colors than black.

| What's with the blade on the back? It's something I haven't seen before. Do you do that to all your Suicks? |

Location: Bloomington, MN | Betsy Pearson, Dick Pearson's wife, was the first that I've heard of adding the very small blades to pull/rise baits (Suicks/Bobbies/Foolers) many years ago. About 9 years ago Steve Scepaniak, the longest known Mille Lacs Muskie Guide, made me a firm believer due to our results with this added little blade. I have not tossed a Suick without one in years to prove/disprove that is is a triggering device. It sure does make the bait look fancier! |

Location: Marshfield, WI | I picked up a 12" weighted suick this summer. I haven't used it much. Mine doesn't go down very deep for being weighted. Maybe I just have a buoyant hunk of wood. It does look good though. Kind of forgot about it. Should have thrown it today. We had a good fish spotted and tossed all sorts of baits at it but never saw it again. How deep does yours run?
I also like those big hawgteasers but haven't thrown those much either. An easy way to get those to run deeper is to add a bell sinker to the hookhangers. Maybe I should try that on the 12" suick.

| We used to add spinners to bobbies back in the day. I have not thrown a 12 inch suick...but thanks for showing me them I have always loved the bait in a 9 inch size...I think the 12inch would be easy to throw compared to the other large baits out there... |

Location: Land of the Musky | I like my 2-12" Suick I got this year. They are both unweighted but my winter project is to add weight to them. I like the blades on the tails!!! I have a 9" weighted that is going on for next year for my spring trip to Canada. Will be interesting to do a side by side with two of the same colors.

Location: Dixon, IL | Drill small hole then add swivel with rings that you can put it into hole and add your perfer small blade on other side ring! Ball bearing would be better!
I remember that article in old In Fisherman! what happened to Betsy Pearson? I know Dick Pearson still around! |

| I bought several and gave them all a good coat of Envirotex. Adds a little weight and a lot of protection. I like the black ones because they don't clearcoat them. They like 'em flat black. I like 'em because I can paint over the black, now they aint black no mo. |

| I'm intrigued by the tail spinner deal there boys. I'm a Suick man from way back, my first musky at age 12 came on a 7" perch Suick, been my go to ever since.
Just curious, do you still get the good walk-the-dog along with dive and rise when you add the spinner? I added the same rig to a couple of manta tails and found that the spinner blade acted as a rudder or keel, keeping the manta from swinging very wide at all. Took them all off. |

They could make a 20" lure and it would catch fish. It would be just as easy to work as a 10". and just think of the target profile it would display.
Seriously, the black ones have no clearcoat, so I bought 4 and put different scale colors on them and then gave them a coat of envirotex. Much improved. |

Location: On your favorite spot | This is one of the best new baits of the year. I throw the weighted version. It really backs up on the pause and runs deep enough to throw on the edge, shallow enough to work through the cabbage. |

| I ve done this to a couple of my suicks and it gives the bait a little extra flash which has gotten some strikes for me
