I am interested in buying some creepers for my topwater arsenal and was wondering what some your guys' favorites are. This isnt a poll with choices pre-selected because there are too many custom creepers to name them all so feel free to list all your favorites.
Pictures of them would be sweet too!
Thanks,
Eric

The only Creeper style bait that I own is a Wave Walker by Musky Buster lures. I don't like fishing slow, so I'm not a big fan of this style of bait as a result. But this thing looks awesome in the water. If I can develop some patience when it comes to chucking baits this thing is going to get chomped! If I have a big fish located, this will be a great bait to throw over the top of her if she doesn't go for my faster presentations first.

Eric,

B.S. Willy's Creeper is #1 for (in the standard size)The stainless wings are tuff and stay tuned longer alot longer than most.I think he has a new bigger jointed model you should Check out.
Lee's Creepshow looks CRAZY plus the wings are the same as on the B.S Willy's! I'm not sure if they will be sold at R&H or if you have to go to Lee for them? There all a little more than the rest but the quality is important in a bait that can be a drag to keep tuned.

Like DH.Pare said. BS Willy is one great creeper - fast or s-l-o-w!

Of the readily available creepers out there I would go with the Sennett Tackle CreepTonight. It has a unique body style and "creep" compared to standard shaped creepers. I believe that body style sounds different, it seems to move more water than a regular body style creeper and produces on waters where regular creepers are used alot.
Joel Wick also makes some awesome creepers but these could be higher priced than you are comfortable with.
My favorite creepers are Wakemakers. These are very difficult to find and are custom custom, which really sends the price up, but if you can find one they are well worth it, in my opinion

I use a couple different creepers, but they do have a common denominator. They can be worked fast or slow. The B.S. Willys sound awesome and are the best imitation of a little duck scurrying accross the water I've seen. The Wave Walker is the other that does the same thing. The jointed Willy was very good last season. The Slamr Creepin Tom is good one, and I like the WaveWalker for big bait. One that I got at the Chicago Show looks excellent, by Doug Bradley. It has the shape of the LeLures and solves one of the problems with creeper wings since the notch in the wing keeps it from bending too far:

I know everyone has their favorite Creeper for various reasons but which one has the best hooking %? The Creeptonite had an absolutely horrible hooking % last season for me. The Slamr Creeper worked ok but the best creepers for hooking % had hook spreaders. Maybe modifying one of the afformentioned creepers with spreaders would help the hooking %?

Joel Wick makes probably thenicest creeper you have a chacne at getting ahold of, although they are pretty tough to find used and i think he has a couple year waiting list at this point.

Ryan Jinkerson makes a variety of creepers and they are darn nice as well. a little easier to get than the wicks.

Gary Tesch also builds some creepers and you may find these a bit easier on the wallet. not quite at the level of the wicks, but good creepers nonetheless.

Randy Pafford jointed creepers from smokeys are a nice bait.

There are a host of other basement creepers out there....just takes some hunting to find them. alot of these guys dont like their names getting out because they dont want to be overwhelmed with people wanting baits.

The BS and Wick has been mentioned already and I like them both very much.

One that you should look at is the new med sized Wave Walker by Holcomb Tackle. It's got a great sound and you can get them with a spreader bar. They have a nicer "plunk" then the big ones, they're easier to throw, and they still work well in some chop.

I like the Laura Morrison Creepenstein. Lots of noise and lots of water thrown. Not sure if they have many left though? I tried to get a few for my website and couldn't get any. Great lure if you can find one!

I had very good luck last year using straight model BS Williy creeper. Sure wish they would come out with a larger version of the straight model one.

I have way too many creepers to choose from. I like my BS Willy Jointed for faster work, my Wakemakers for slow along with the Wick, I also have a Rylure that I haven't used yet but can't wait. I also got two of Doug Bradley's customs at the milwaukee show that are waiting to get eaten.
