Posts: 399 Location: Burton, Ohio | Hey everybody, Hope all is well. Been messing around with some 6" shad type cranks. Some different types of foiling type things and other stuff I have been tooling around with. Hope to give them a whirl after ice-off. I am going to have to throw my walleye boxes out of the boat and get some of those mega musky boxes! LOL Take care John Attachments ---------------- ![]() ![]() ![]()

Posts: 786 Location: Minnesota | Your done Tigger! I just got my wifes roll of aluminum foil out. Three baits started. When I am done I will be able to cook anything! From cookies to chicken on these Grunts. Hey, love that red one with the screen! That one looks like a fish producing powerhouse. As usual, very nice work! James PS-Another guess! You take highly bubbles swiss cheese and cut it thin and then cut to the shape of your bait. Let it dry and you have your perfect mold for the foil! Got ya on this one I think! Let me know if you need my address to send the free bait if I won the contest.

Posts: 399 Location: Burton, Ohio | Thanks everyone! I like these little buggers. I do want to try a shallow version. The ice is almost off my casting area. I have some different lip angles and lip sizes I want to try. These run like a Hot-N-tot type action. I want to try them for some New York salmon in the fall also. Still trying to get set-up with things. I don't want to try to sound like a broken record. I am so picky with the website I get past that! The pics don't look as good to me with the hooks on them laying next to a tape measure. I know just put them on and sell them! LOL. I am getting past my window of building time. I hate being inside! My first walleye tourney is in 2 weeks! Ice permitting. Grunt you are persistent. My wife will not let anywhere near her foil anymore! LOL I tried a candy wrapper the other day. I have a pick of that one. Not sure what type of lip to in it! One last one that I finished last night! Thanks again everyone. John Attachments ---------------- ![]() ![]()

Posts: 128 | Those things look awesome! I'd love to buy a few when you come up with a shallow runner. How deep do the ones you are currently making run when casted?

Posts: 399 Location: Burton, Ohio | Thanks again everyone. I think you could get to 8 feet on a cast. I casted one today in some open water I found next to the icepack. It was shallow only 5 foot deep about. I Hit the bottom half way on a half cast. That was the edge of the ice. Todd, they do shake hard. I believe you call them thumpers! LOL I really can't wait to use them when the ice comes off. I will post some more info on them when I get them in the boat and run them hard. I have sent some out to people to try. I believe some will be fished this coming weekend in Indiana! Icebreaker tourney. I played around with a glider style also. I made an alwive and the shad. slow sinkers. Some are heading to tennessee to go striper fishing with friend this summer. Floating versions. He tears them up on shad baits there. I can't wait! John
