Location: Athens, Ohio | Just in time for our outing, I've screwed up my casting wrist (again!). Going to the doc tomorrow but as a back up plan, what are the regs for trolling the northern waters? thanks, m

Posts: 1996 Location: Pelican Lake/Three Lakes Chain | No trolling in Oneida and Vilas counties, sorry for the info. Just get the darn wrist better!

| Head to Grindstone and LCO in Sawyer County or hit the Fox River and Green Bay and troll all you want Mikie. Take the Gambler though if you try Green Bay. | |||

Posts: 2515 Location: Waukesha & Land O Lakes, WI | You can motor troll Michigan waters, not boundry waters, Michigan waters. You could troll The Cisco Chain on the Michigan side if you wanted to. 1000 Island Lake would be a good one for that.

| Is Kentuck Lake open to trolling? Thought I read that some where. It may not be in Vilas though. | |||

Posts: 714 Location: Rhinelander, WI | Trolling is allowed on the Willow and Rainbow Flowages in Oneida county and Lake Alice in Lincoln County and a couple other speratic lakes around the Vilas/Oneida Area. I would double check on the Flambeau Chain as I don’t think you can troll that anymore, I may be wrong however. Pick up a Wisconsin Regulation book and look though the specific counties and the trolling lakes are pretty easy to pick out. Good luck with the wrist hope it gets better. Nail A Pig! Mike

Posts: 285 Location: NE Wisconsin | In WI, if you are disabled you can get a permit to troll any waters with the aid of a trolling motor. Check with your local DNR service center for the form. You will need a note from the doctor. Very similar to the hunting permit to shoot from a car or truck. John Aschenbrenner

Posts: 1301 Location: Hayward, Wisconsin | Mikie: You can also troll Whitefish and Round in Sawyer County and the Eau Claire Chain and Lake Namakagon in Bayfield County. Feel your "pain" as I have been there, done that with the writst. Even tried using a left handed reel for awhile. Hope it heals soon. Location: Contrarian Island | Todd M...I think you might be mistaken..the Flambeau Chain? As in Lac Du Flambeau chain..um yah, you can't troll out there...at least legally Edited by MSKY HNR 5/25/2006 10:03 AM

Location: Athens, Ohio | Well, I got a cortizone shot and the doc didn't say to NOT go fishing, so I've got my teenager working on a potato cannon with a small enough diameter to launch everything in the tackle box except Beav's big Castor. My other plan was just to get an amputation and get a screw fitting for my daddy's old gaff hook, but that may have it's limitations. I still like the idea of Mauser row trolling with my Basstracker and a canoe paddle. Should keep him outta trouble for a while. thanks again, m
