Posts: 1291 Location: Hayward, Wisconsin | In-Fisherman did have a photo of a "horned" pike in the mag. several years back, but they were mere flaps of extra skin that "looked" like horn (about an inch long). Nothing like the phony horns here! If I recall correctly, I posted it here a year or so ago in an "Exox Oddities" thread.

The Hodag is a far more impressive hoax and has shown its staying power for a century. Although, if you are out late at night, far from town in the woods of Oneida County, there are sometimes bone chilling screams that could be bob cats or, maybe, just maybe, the death cry of white bull dogs, the favorite snack of the Hodag. Personally, when I hear them, I inch closer to the fire and make another manhattan.

Posts: 1274 Location: E. Tenn | The nocturnal noises over the last few years up there have been made by coyotes.. The hodag and the story is pretty cool tho.. Edited by miket55 3/25/2018 4:23 PM

Not by my house. Had bob cat tracks in the snow on my front porch couple weeks ago. It comes by every once and a while. 3 years ago just down the road guy came out to find a half eaten deer on hood of car. That one made a heck of a racket. Edited by North of 8 3/25/2018 5:36 PM
