Posts: 7036 Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | I look the weekend off from fishing (lots of family stuff, worked on the boat a little, played some ball) but how did all of you do out on the water?

Posts: 56 Location: Illinois | My 8 year old son landed his first musky, a tiger too! He couldn't be a happier kid, I couldn't be more proud of him. He did it all on his own, casting his favorite lure. Edited by jheminva 7/11/2016 10:20 AM Attachments ---------------- Haden's Musky.jpg (35KB - 336 downloads)

Posts: 1828 | Fished Friday night. Picked my buddy up on his dock at 6:45. Between then and 9:00 we landed four - three small ones and a 47 (biggest we've got from that lake in 10 years) - and had 6 others chase. Went back to the better follows at sunset but none of them cooperated. Great action for a last-minute outing. Caught two on blades (one 9's, one 10's) and two on a weagle. The 47 crushed the weagle boatside. First it came out behind my cowgirl and went around the 8 a half-dozen times, but kind of lazily, and finally faded off. Partner had his weagle setting dead still at boatside while we talked about the follow and tried to guess its size. Out of nowhere she erupted on the weagle and scared the crap out of us. Amazing that we landed it. That will be a fond memory for a long time.

Posts: 705 Location: Alex or Alek? | Fished Friday evening from 5-dark on a central MN lake (still confused on how to divide MN). My uncle picked up a chunky 36 on a jitterbug and had a bigger one jump and miss. We had one other up to the boat on a Believer that got boat shy.

Posts: 1828 | MOJOcandy101 - 7/11/2016 10:39 AM (still confused on how to divide MN). This division makes sense, but many people have a hard time with reality. Especially those from the metro, who, for some reason, believe they live in central MN. They have their own "region", separate from the south, to appease their unwillingness to acknowledge their southern location. Attachments ---------------- MN regions.jpg (242KB - 324 downloads)

Growing up in the cities it does feel a bit weird to call my grandparents resort in Park Papids "central" MN but it is most logical.

Posts: 548 Location: MN | We have a cabin north of Park Rapids. 200 miles north is still 'up north' to me.

Posts: 252 | My daughter in law caught and released her first musky casting, my son caught and released two and one was a nice fat 46 incher, and I caught and released a 35 incher right before dark. Pretty good weekend overall. We are in south central, well, slightly eastern south central rural Kentucky.

Posts: 386 | waconia not being a metro lake is news to me, also there should be a metro outline surrounding the big V ?? Cool map, thanks for posting. My weekend report only involves sunnies as it was family vacation week. There was hushed talk of walleyes after 11 at the local watering hole too. Looking forward to Thursday which will be my first shot at satisfying my obsession in two weeks. Gratskies to the young dude with the tiger!

Posts: 1 | Out on st Clair today. Moved 6 fish, had 2 hit way out on the cast but couldn't land either of them. Sometimes it's the way she goes. All casting rubber

Posts: 57 Location: LENA IL | Spent the week "up north" and boated 6 for the week. Weather was stable which seemed to keep the fish active each day. No pigs caught but some nice fish. Attachments ---------------- image.png (395KB - 367 downloads)

Posts: 12 | Sunday early A.M. went out for 1 hour in Mercer, WI. Decided to go across the lake to a spot that I haven't been to this year. Its was one of those feelings that there has to be a musky in that spot due to temp. water levels, etc. First lure 2 casts nothing, second lure 2nd cast a slight tail tug, go into the 8 boat side and see the top 3 inches of a tail 20 yards back where the tug was so no follow. Didn't see any other fish in a couple of other spots but still feel satisfied. The spot that I knew there would be a fish there was. I love it when I know what spots to hit and it proves right, even if I didn't get her in the boat. Talked to another musky guy he and a bud caught 4 that day and lost a mid 40, they fished all day.

Posts: 240 Location: Oconomowc, WI | Couldn't keep the pike off my line this weekend! Did boat a nice 41" Musky though...followed a fouled bait and hit once below the boat but didn't get hooks in, then shot out of the water missing on a second attempt. Figure eighted for a while with no luck, so I just stuck around and kept casting. Got 'em on the 5th or 6th next cast. Attachments ---------------- 41in Musky.jpg (164KB - 327 downloads)
