Posts: 58 | Are true bucktails gone from the muskie world? All the hot or talked about baits seem to be the flashbou type material? Anyone still using a lot of real bucktail? What are your favorite models?

Posts: 54 | The Blue Fox Musky Buck has done well for me. The thin wire up front has always scared me a little, but there's never been an issue.

Thin wire can make a bucktail sing. Much like an instrument, if it's built like a truck, it often sounds like one too.

Posts: 1283 | I caught most of my bucktail fish on single bladed hair baits I had custom made by Josh Rabska.

Posts: 92 | Catch a good share of fish on homemade hair bucktails with a single blade. They may not be mainstream anymore but then again thats why i throw them. They still work and are just another tool especially on pressured waters where the fish are seeing double tens every fifteen minutes. Time and place for every tool in the box.

Posts: 219 | I agree with the above. We have had success throwing the standard (single blade) dreamcatcher when alot (almost all) are throwing a double 10 of some type, make or model. Sometimes it is good to be different...but there are sometimes when it is not... HA!

Posts: 345 Location: Poynette WI. | Yup the majority of the bucktails I use are made of bucktail. My favorite has been white, which is from deer I've harvested myself, with a orange #8 or copper blade. Probably m best bucktail last season with around 20 muskies caught on just the orange blade alone.
